Nixon Newell Addresses AEW Collision Walkout – Nixon Newell has broken her silence following reports that she and Miranda Alize walked out of AEW Collision on November 8, 2025, after refusing to lose to Tay Melo and Anna Jay in a short match. The former WWE star, known to fans as Tegan Nox, took to Twitch alongside her real-life partner Alize on Sunday night to share their side of the story — and revealed she’s now facing harassment over the incident.
“It’s lovely waking up to death threats again for standing up for what we believe in and looking out for the company,” Newell said during the stream. “I had multiple today. I got three today and it’s always with the IWC. So it is what it is.”
Newell began by clarifying that she and Alize were never sent home but rather told they could leave after they declined to work a three-minute match that they felt wouldn’t benefit anyone involved. “We were polite, we were respectful,” she explained. “We called our producer over and said, ‘Hey, I don’t think 3 minutes is going to benefit us, not just us but everyone in the tag team. So respectfully, I think this should go to someone else who could benefit.’ There was no ‘f*** you,’ that’s all. We spoke to everyone involved, and they said we were free to go home.”
The former WWE star detailed the chaotic timeline leading up to the walkout. According to her, they drove several hours to Houston only to have their match changed at the last minute and shortened. “We were excited to wrestle TayJay,” she said. “We were told pretty late in the day before Collision… then they come back and say it’s going to be a shorter match, which is okay, we’re just happy to have a match. But when we were told 3 minutes, we thought it just wouldn’t make anyone look good.”
Newell also addressed reports claiming she was “pounding beers” after leaving the venue. “What pissed me off the most was how people said we were pounding beers, like I don’t do that on a daily basis — I like to drink,” she joked. “People can have their opinions, but I’ve been doing this 15 years, and she’s been doing it 14. I said last year this is my last two years in wrestling, and we’re already a year gone. I want to have fun this year.”
Both Newell and Alize made it clear that there’s no bad blood with AEW. “It was all done respectfully,” Newell said. “It was never an ego thing about 3 minutes. It was that it wasn’t going to be good for anyone in the match.” She added that people inside AEW leaked false narratives to “dirt sheets” and expressed disappointment at how quickly misinformation spread.
Alize was even more direct, saying, “Dirt sheets have no f***ing life. Nobody knows what happened but us and the people we spoke to.” She reiterated that she isn’t in wrestling for fame or money, adding, “We’re just looking to enjoy the last year of our careers.”
Newell echoed that sentiment, calling this period her “rundown time.” “I don’t do wrestling for money. I do it because I enjoy it and it’s fun. I have other dreams I’m working toward. Wrestling is just in the background,” she said.
With both women confirming their plans to wind down their in-ring careers, it’s clear their focus is now on peace, not politics.
