Apollo Crews Returns to Action at AAA Tapings

Apollo Crews Returns to Action at AAA Tapings – Apollo Crews is officially back in the ring after spending nearly a year recovering from a torn pectoral muscle.

The WWE star made his return during an untelevised segment at Saturday’s AAA tapings in Mexico City, where he answered an open challenge from Lince Dorado. Crews picked up the win, marking his first in-ring victory since suffering his injury in January and signaling a fresh start as he works toward a full comeback.

Crews has been out since the January 24 episode of SmackDown, where he suffered the torn pec in a match against Johnny Gargano. The injury occurred when Crews took a backcracker and immediately began favoring his shoulder, though he continued the match and managed to score a roll-up victory. Not long after, Crews addressed the situation publicly, explaining the setback in a message shared with fans. In his own words: “A few weeks ago on SmackDown, I tore my pec—an unfortunate situation. Sometimes, you do everything right, but there are just some things beyond your control. I’m looking forward to the road ahead, attacking it with a positive and unstoppable mindset.”

Before the injury, Crews had been drafted to SmackDown in the 2024 WWE Draft, though most of his appearances took place on Main Event tapings. He also teamed briefly with Baron Corbin, a run that ended when Corbin was released from WWE in November of last year. With his return now official, Crews has an opportunity to reestablish himself and rebuild momentum after ten challenging months away from competition.

Crews’ appearance at the AAA tapings was untelevised but significant, offering a first look at his physical readiness following surgery and rehab. With the WWE roster continuing to evolve, his return adds depth to the blue brand and sets the stage for his next chapter.
