Nick Wayne Expected to Miss Up to Two More Months With Foot Injury – Ring of Honor Television Champion Nick Wayne is expected to remain out of action for up to two additional months as he continues to recover from a broken foot. The update was revealed during a backstage segment on AEW Collision this past Saturday, where AEW’s medical staff informed Wayne that his ankle was still swollen and would require another six to eight weeks of healing.
Wayne, 20, has not wrestled since mid-July. The injury, which occurred in August, forced him to miss AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view. AEW has not clarified whether the injury took place during a match or outside of competition.
Although sidelined, Wayne has continued to appear on AEW programming. His Collision segment showed his visible frustration upon learning of the extended recovery timeline, but no plans have been announced regarding the status of the ROH Television Championship.
Wayne signed with AEW in 2022 and debuted in-ring for the company the following year. The son of late independent wrestling standout Buddy Wayne, he has been active in professional wrestling since his early teens. His rapid rise in AEW and ROH included high-profile matches that culminated in his capturing the ROH Television Championship earlier this year.
