Kota Ibushi Stretchered Out During AEW Collision Taping After Injury – Kota Ibushi sustained a possible leg injury during the October 8 AEW Collision taping at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred during his scheduled match against Josh Alexander, which was part of the episode set to air this Saturday, October 11.
According to multiple fans in attendance, the injury took place when Ibushi attempted a move from the top turnbuckle but fell awkwardly to the outside of the ring. Witnesses reported that his leg appeared to buckle on impact, immediately prompting concern from ringside officials and medical staff. The match was halted as referees and trainers attended to Ibushi, who was later stretchered to the backstage area.
Following the incident, AEW President Tony Khan came out to address the crowd. With the arena lights dimmed, Khan thanked fans for their patience and respect during the situation, confirming that Ibushi had indeed suffered an injury. He reminded the audience that such accidents can happen in wrestling before leading a “Kota Ibushi” chant in support of the injured star.
Ibushi joined AEW in 2023 and has battled through multiple injuries since signing with the company. He missed significant time in 2024 and earlier this year due to various health setbacks before making his return in June. As of this writing, AEW has not released an official update on the severity of Ibushi’s latest injury or whether it will affect his status for upcoming events, including AEW WrestleDream later this month.
