Kevin Nash Says Triple H and Shawn Michaels Wanted Him to Return as a Commentator – WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has revealed that Triple H and Shawn Michaels once pitched the idea of him returning to the company as a commentator. During a recent conversation with The Wrestling Classic, Nash discussed how surprised he was to see both of his longtime friends leading WWE today.
Nash admitted that he never envisioned Triple H and Shawn Michaels becoming the two main creative figures in the company but acknowledged that both have always had a strong passion for the business. Reflecting on the early days of Triple H’s career, Nash recalled how dedicated he was to learning the inner workings of the industry even when he faced challenges.
“No. I knew Triple H,” Nash began. “I mean, when I had heard that Triple H was, like, going to production meetings when, like, the NWO was hot. Like, you know, he was in the doghouse. Yeah, he was in the doghouse, actually, at Curtain Call. So, he was a student of it, and Shawn always loved the business.
“All it took was, you know, Triple H to get… kind of in the mix. And then he asked Shawn to help. Of course, Shawn did. I was done working by then. That’s the one thing they say. Come back and announce and come back and do this and it’s just like, you got to fly in Sunday to work Monday to leave Tuesday. That’s three days. I mean, you got a job. I don’t want a job.”
Despite Triple H and Michaels suggesting a possible commentary role for him, Nash made it clear that he’s not interested in returning to a regular WWE schedule. He explained that the travel demands and time commitment that come with such a position don’t appeal to him at this stage of his life.
