Baron Corbin Defends Nia Jax After Jade Cargill Injury on SmackDown – The September 26 episode of WWE SmackDown featured a high-stakes Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Championship, with Tiffany Stratton defending against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. Stratton ultimately retained her title after hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Jax for the victory, following a massive botch.

However, the match also produced an unfortunate moment when Jax delivered a Samoan Drop that sent Cargill crashing into the steel steps. The impact left Cargill with a deep cut above her left eye, forcing her to receive immediate medical attention. Following the show, Cargill posted a photo of her injury on social media with the caption, “Don’t question the love I have for this game.” Several WWE stars, including Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, CM Punk, Nikki Bella, and Otis, sent messages of support.

The incident sparked heavy criticism toward Jax on social media, with some fans accusing her of being careless in the ring and even suggesting she injured Cargill intentionally. Among those who stepped up to defend Jax was former WWE star Bishop Dyer, known in WWE as Baron Corbin. Dyer fired back at a fan who accused Jax of deliberately hurting Cargill, writing: “Dude shut the fuck up! You have no idea what you are talking about.”

Dyer’s response underscores a recurring theme around Jax, who has often faced criticism from fans over injuries sustained by her opponents. In this case, however, many within WWE quickly rallied around Cargill with encouragement, while others, like Dyer, pushed back against the idea that Jax’s actions were intentional.

The SmackDown main event closed with Stratton celebrating her championship retention, only for WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to confront her in a tense staredown — setting the stage for a future clash between the two titleholders.
