AEW Files Trademark for New Faction “The Demand” Following All Out Victory

AEW Files Trademark for New Faction “The Demand” Following All Out Victory – AEW has officially moved to trademark the name of its newest faction, The Demand, following the group’s impressive win at the All Out pay-per-view this past Saturday. The trio consists of Ricochet and the Gates of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun), and their name was revealed for the first time during their entrance at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. Ring announcer Justin Roberts introduced the team under their new moniker, which was quickly confirmed by the commentary team.

According to the trademark application, AEW filed for “The Demand” under the classification covering professional wrestling exhibitions and live performances. The filing specifically notes, “Conducting entertainment exhibitions in the nature of professional wrestling exhibitions and performances by professional wrestlers, namely, performances by a team of wrestlers during professional wrestling events; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances.”

The Demand’s debut match as an official unit saw them defeat the veteran faction The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP). The victory was sealed when Ricochet delivered his “Spirit Gun” finishing move to MVP for the pinfall. This marked the first time The Hurt Syndicate had suffered a pinfall loss since their AEW debut. While the group previously lost at the Forbidden Door event, that setback came in a multi-team bout where neither Lashley nor Benjamin was directly involved in the decision.

The creation of The Demand has been weeks in the making, emerging from Ricochet’s ongoing battles with The Don Callis Family. Initially outnumbered in his clashes with Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher, Ricochet found unexpected backup in the Gates of Agony, who had recently separated from former ally Swerve Strickland. Their alliance has now evolved into a fully branded faction with AEW securing the trademark to protect the group’s identity.
