CM Punk Names Liv Morgan His 2025 MVP – CM Punk has publicly praised Liv Morgan, calling her his WWE MVP for 2025 so far, following her unfortunate shoulder injury that may sideline her for the remainder of the year.
Morgan, who has been one of the most prominent names in WWE over the past year, suffered a dislocated shoulder during a recent match against Kairi Sane on RAW. The injury requires surgery and has already impacted WWE’s creative plans, as Morgan was expected to enter summer feuds involving Roxanne Perez, IYO SKY, and Nikki Bella.
Speaking at Fanatics Fest in New York City during a live taping of Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart, CM Punk gave high praise to Morgan’s development and performance throughout the year.
“Shoutout to Liv Morgan who recently got injured, she was like my MVP for the year,” Punk said. “I look at people like Liv who probably started right after I left, 2014-ish, and just from the time I’ve been around her and been able to see her work, just the way she’s developed this last year and just broken out of her shell and turned into this little worker, it kinda warms my heart.”
Punk went on to explain how witnessing Morgan’s rise firsthand has left an impression on him.
“I missed her the first part of the journey, but to be here, see her grow into who she’s become…it’s disappointing she got injured, but it’s part of the process. Nobody gets out alive is what I like to say — when you do this, it’s just part of the job.”
Morgan’s 2025 campaign had already included reigns as WWE Women’s World Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion, along with high-profile rivalries with Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch. Her momentum had positioned her as one of the key figures in the women’s division until the injury occurred.
There is currently no official timetable for her return, though early indications suggest she may not wrestle again this year. WWE has not confirmed the exact storyline adjustments that will follow.
