Street Profits React to WrestleMania 41 Snub – WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits address being left off the WrestleMania 41 card and instead shift their focus to defending their titles on WrestleMania SmackDown.
Despite not being scheduled for a match at Allegiant Stadium during either night of WrestleMania 41, WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits appear content with their current role. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will defend their titles this Friday on WrestleMania SmackDown against TNA’s Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.
The duo addressed their absence from the main WrestleMania card during a recent appearance on the It Is What It Is podcast, and Dawkins made it clear he’s not dwelling on the situation.
“I’d be lying if I said I don’t want to ride the pine,” Dawkins admitted. “But hey, sometimes you got to play your role. You got to ride the bench sometimes. But hey, you know what? We on SmackDown. We defending the titles. We going to do work against Motor City Machine Guns. We gonna beat them boys down.”
He added, “We’re going to go out there and put on a show.”
While many performers are eager to compete on WWE’s grandest stage, the Profits are focused on the task at hand: retaining their championships against one of the most decorated tag teams in wrestling history. Their inclusion on the WrestleMania SmackDown lineup keeps them in the spotlight during one of the biggest weekends in wrestling.
They aren’t alone in being active but not featured on the main show. WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green also has no match scheduled for WrestleMania 41 but will team with Alba Fyre and Piper Niven against Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, and Zelina Vega on SmackDown. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is also set for Friday’s show at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
While not on the official WrestleMania 41 card, The Street Profits will still have a major role to play during the weekend, bringing their signature energy and intensity to a high-profile title defense.
