PAC Undergoes MRI Following Injury on AEW Dynamite – AEW star PAC is reportedly undergoing an MRI after suffering a legitimate injury during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which aired live on April 10. The injury occurred during PAC’s first-ever singles bout with Swerve Strickland and resulted in the match ending sooner than expected.
PAC appeared to injure his right foot after taking a powerbomb into the corner early in the contest. Following the spot, he was seen favoring the foot and received medical attention at ringside. Despite the injury, PAC returned to the ring briefly and completed the planned finish, absorbing a superkick and Swerve Stomp from Strickland, who secured the pinfall victory.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, PAC was scheduled for an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury. As of now, no official diagnosis has been provided.
The timing is critical as PAC, alongside Death Riders teammates Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, currently holds the AEW World Trios Championships. The trio had been preparing to defend their titles against The Opps — the newly formed team of Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK — who issued a challenge during the same Dynamite broadcast. AEW has not yet announced a date for that match, and PAC’s availability is now in question depending on his medical results.
PAC’s match with Strickland was his first since early March and was expected to be a strong showing for both men following AEW Dynasty. Strickland, who recently fell short in his AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxley — due in part to interference from the Young Bucks — used the match to rebound with a decisive victory.
As updates become available regarding PAC’s condition, AEW is expected to announce whether adjustments will be made to the scheduled Trios Title defense.
