WWE RAW on Netflix Debut: Celebrities, Mat Sponsors, New Ref Outfits – The debut of WWE RAW on Netflix on January 6, 2025, in Los Angeles brought not only thrilling in-ring action but also an impressive turnout of celebrities from various industries. The red carpet resembled an awards show, with Travis Scott, Ashton Kutcher, Michael Che, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Wale, Vanessa Hudgens, and Bill Simmons, among others, seen in attendance or shown on camera. Additionally, stars like Seth Green, Macaulay Culkin, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Tiffany Haddish added to the star power, with notable figures such as Stephen Amell and Danielle Fishel (Topanga from Boy Meets World) also present. TKO executives and WWE higher-ups, alongside Netflix representatives, were in the crowd, marking the momentous occasion.
WWE’s legendary past stars made their presence felt too, with Hulk Hogan, Stephanie McMahon, Undertaker, Jimmy Hart, X-Pac, Michelle McCool, and Nikki Bella all appearing on-screen or participating in the show. The Undertaker made a grand entrance as his “American Bad Ass” persona following Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Championship victory, while Hogan faced a notably negative reception from the live audience during his promo.
The show also introduced several new branding elements, including the mat (seen above), which was filled with logos from a variety of sponsors like Fortnite, Riyadh Season, Netflix, Cricket Wireless, Snickers, and Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer, in which WWE has a minority investment. Unlike the blue SmackDown mat, RAW’s mat was black, marking another first. Even the referees donned new outfits—dark gray with black collars and the WWE logo prominently displayed.
This historic event combined Hollywood star power, new sponsorship deals, and bold branding choices to elevate the RAW experience for both fans and industry leaders alike.
