Deonna Purrazzo Makes AEW Debut – Deonna Purrazzo made a significant debut on the January 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, officially signing on as the newest addition to the roster.
Following her victorious in-ring debut, Mariah May stirred controversy in an interview with Renee Paquette, deriding the Newark, New Jersey crowd. As May continued her disparaging remarks about the local audience, the arena suddenly erupted with the theme for Deonna Purrazzo, showcasing the words “THE VIRTUOSA” on the big screen.
Interrupting May, Purrazzo entered the scene, promptly addressing the AEW Women’s Champion, Toni Storm. Amidst the verbal exchange, May challenged Purrazzo’s approach, insisting that Purrazzo should directly convey her message to Storm. Purrazzo knocked May out of the ring.
It’s worth noting that Purrazzo had previously competed on the May 4, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, contending for the ROH Women’s Title against Mercedes Martinez.
Purrazzo’s impressive resume includes three reigns as the IMPACT/TNA Knockouts Champion and a former stint as the ROH Women’s Champion. Her departure from IMPACT was marked at IMPACT Final Resolution on December 9, officially becoming a free agent at the start of the new year.
