NXT “TAKEOVER: THE END” RESULTS – JUNE 8, 2016

Pre-Show:

We are at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The panel for the Pre Show for Takeover: The End is Renee Young, Lita, and Corey Graves.

Renee asks what does ‘The End’ mean. Corey says that he hopes it isn’t the end because he is unemployable. He says that something feels different and something is coming to the end. He says one thing won’t be coming to an end and that is Samoa Joe’s title reign.

Renee mentions the first ever steel cage match in NXT history. Corey reminds us about the Women’s Title Match with Asuka defending against Asuka. Lita mentions the Tag Title Match with American Alpha defending against The Revival. Corey talks about the debut of Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Renee mentions the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Austin Aries. Corey talks more about Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and his match against Tye Dillinger.

Renee talks about being able to see the in ring debut of the wrestlers. Corey mentions Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, and Nakamura making their debuts at Takeover. Lita mentions that we have seen some of these people in other rings, but not in an NXT ring.

Cathy Kelley and Mike Rome are outside with the fans.

It is time to talk about the Women’s Title Match and we have a video package.

Renee mentions the damage that Asuka has caused as champion, but what does this opportunity mean for Nia Jax? Lita says this is a match she has wanted to see since her debut. She says these are the two biggest superstars on the show. Corey says he is excited because it reminds her of Alyundra Blayze and Bull Nakano. Corey wonders if Asuka not being able to intimidate Nia will affect her. Lita mentions it will be tough for Bayley to have to watch this match since she cannot be in the ring.

Renee asks for predictions and Corey goes with Nia while Lita says Asuka will retain.

Renee asks about Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. Corey mentions his success around the world, but he is new to NXT. He has a big challenge against Tye Dillinger and Corey wonders if Andrade can win. Lita says that she has a soft spot for Andrade because she started in Mexico.

Renee mentions comments from Tye Dillinger from earlier in the day.

We look at a video package for Austin Aries versus Shinsuke Nakamura.

Renee comments on how this is a dream match and we get to see it tonight. Lita says these are two huge global superstars. She mentions that Nakamura proved himself in Dallas. Renee asks about the NXT Title picture. Corey says the winner moves up the rankings. Corey says that Austin calls himself the Greatest Man to Ever Live, but he has to prove himself tonight.

Corey and Lita both pick Nakamura.

We see Samoa Joe arriving at Full Sail earlier today.

We are back and it is time to talk about the Tag Title Match.

Corey says the Revival are as much responsible for the resurgence in the tag team division in NXT as much as anyone. Lita mentions that American Alpha have been dominant and it showed when they won the title in Dallas. Corey talks about how American Alpha ran through the tag team division and then were able to win the titles in Dallas. This is their first title defense so they will have to come into this with a different mindset. Lita says American Alpha rose quickly but there is a lot of hard work that we saw in Gable and Jordan’s reaction.

Corey is going with the Revival.

Andrea Demarco is wtih Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder in the interview area and she asks about their rematch. Dawson says Dash is in a fragile state, look at the tears in his eyes. Scott says they are great amateur athletes but they have never been in a real fight. They will hit hard tonight and it will be the end of American Alpha’s reign as they become two time champions.

Corey says he is changing his pick because of the way the Revival acted.

We have a video package for the NXT Heavyweight Title Match.

Renee mentions it is escape, pinfall, or submission for the steel cage match. She wonders how can someone prepare.

Corey says that Finn mentions that he had survived Joe but then he lost in Lowell. Now Finn is getting inside a steel cage and it will not end well for him. Lita says that Finn is possessed with becoming a two time champion. She says Finn never being in a cage match could be an advantage. Joe knows the pressure being in the cage, but Finn does not know that pressure. The longer the match, the better the advantage for Joe.

Corey talks about how the sit down interview was uncomfortable. It was a friendship that disintegrated.

Renee asks about The End and this cage match.

Lita says there is a lot of symbolism. Both men will feel the match for a while.

Renee asks for predictions. Corey says tonight is the end of Finn Balor, but it won’t be a good thing. Lita says it will be the end of Samoa Joe’s title reign. That’s all for the pre-show.
