Following a dramatic world championship clash at WWE Money in the Bank 2026, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque addressed the media to break down Roman Reigns’ successful title defense against LA Knight.
While Reigns walked out of the Smoothie King Center with the World Heavyweight Championship still firmly in his possession, Triple H made it clear that the challenger’s stock rose significantly despite the defeat. Levesque praised Reigns for his historic dominance while acknowledging that critics often place an asterisk next to his legacy due to outside interference.
“Roman is on a mission. He has been one of the most dominant champions in recent history, with the longest reign and all the accolades he so rightly deserves,” Triple H stated. “But there’s people like LA Knight that put an asterisk next to his name, that say he only did it because of The Bloodline, he only did it because of this, he only did it because of that. There is an asterisk next to his name when you want to put Roman Reigns on Mount Rushmore and say greatest of all time. That asterisk prevents him from getting that label.”
Triple H emphasized that Reigns answered those lingering questions in New Orleans by stepping up to the challenge, but reserved massive praise for “The Megastar” for pushing the champion to his absolute limits.
“LA Knight, to me, left this match greater than he went in. LA Knight proved he is a megastar. LA Knight proved he belongs in that title scene. LA Knight proved he is a top attraction in this business,” Levesque added.
The high-profile endorsement from WWE creative leadership solidifies Knight’s permanent standing in the main-event picture moving forward, proving that falling short against “The Tribal Chief” did nothing to diminish his momentum.
