Following their initial television tapings on Thursday at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, TNA Wrestling returned to the venue on August 28 to record additional matches and segments for upcoming episodes of TNA iMPACT! on AMC.
The tapings featured crucial storyline developments heading toward Bound for Glory, including a chaotic No Disqualification match for the TNA World Championship, a key X-Division qualifier, and an intense confrontation between Moose and Frankie Kazarian.
In-Ring Action & X-Division Qualifier
- Curt Hawkins vs. Avery Styles: Curt Hawkins picked up a victory over Avery Styles in singles competition.
- AJ Francis vs. Brent Oakley: AJ Francis defeated Brent Oakley. Following the match, Francis called out Avery Styles for a future singles bout. Santino Marella granted the match for “next week,” and while Styles accepted, Frankie Kazarian interrupted the segment to decline the match on his behalf.
- Women’s Tag Action: Indi Hartwell and Harley Hudson defeated Zoey Serrano and TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside. During the contest, Serrano initiated a confrontation with a “fan” at ringside while Daria Rae handled guest commentary.
- Bound for Glory Qualifier: KC Navarro defeated Joe Alonzo to earn a spot in the upcoming six-way X-Division Championship match at Bound for Glory. Current X-Division Champion Leon Slater observed the action from the commentary table.
- Rich Swann vs. Vincent: Rich Swann picked up a pinfall victory over Vincent. BDE appeared to tease an alliance with The Righteous, only to turn on the faction and assist Swann in securing the win.
Backstage Angles & Career Threat Match
Throughout the broadcast, several key backstage segments unfolded to set up future episodes:
- Ryan Nemeth Mystery Attack: Ryan Nemeth was discovered laid out backstage following an unknown attack.
- Backstage Tension: The System confronted Ricky Sosa, but Elijah stepped in to provide backup. Elsewhere, John Skyler attempted to ask out Mila Moore, but she cut him off to answer an incoming phone call.
- International Title No Contest: A Number One Contender’s match for the TNA International Championship between Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch ended in a No Contest after Agent Zero crashed the ring and attacked both competitors.
- High-Stakes Singles Match: Moose defeated Frankie Kazarian in a match where Moose’s TNA career was on the line, with Avery Styles watching from ringside.
Main Event: TNA World Championship No DQ Match
Backstage tensions erupted when TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth confronted Matt Hardy regarding his brother Ryan Nemeth being taken out earlier in the evening. Director of Authority Santino Marella and security intervened to separate the two, leading Marella to sanction a No Disqualification match for the TNA World Championship for “next week.”
In the main event, Nic Nemeth successfully defended the TNA World Championship against Matt Hardy under No DQ rules. During the climax of the bout, a recovering Ryan Nemeth ran down to distract Hardy. Although Hardy put Ryan through a table, Nic capitalized on the chaos by striking Hardy with a wrench to score the pinfall victory.
Following the bell, Nic attempted a post-match assault on Hardy, prompting Elijah to storm the ring and force the Nemeth brothers to retreat.
