WWE SmackDown Results – June 5, 2026 – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s live coverage results of WWE SmackDown on June 5, from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy.
We begin today’s show with a look back at Clash in Italy, running through the major highlights from the event.
Gunther interrupted Wade and Cole’s introduction and immediately took his frustration out on the announce tables.
Gunther grabbed a mic, climbed onto one of the tables, and said nothing on SmackDown would happen until he got what he wanted. He demanded justice for what happened at Clash in Italy. He said no one in WWE has ring awareness like he does, and he clearly put his foot under the rope — the count should never have happened. The referee knew it, Cody knew it, and Cody took advantage and cheated. Cody stole what was rightfully his. Now Golden Boy can walk around kissing everybody’s butt.
“We both know…”
Cody Rhodes’ music hit, and he made his way to the ring while Gunther calmed himself just enough to politely wait through Cody’s full entrance.
Cody told Gunther he was right — his foot was under the ropes, and as a twenty‑year pro he’s had controversial finishes before. Cody said Gunther is a student of the game, and sometimes you’re the hero saving the little piggies from the cold‑blooded sausage maker, and sometimes you are the cold‑blooded sausage maker. Cody said they didn’t need to drag this out and they could run it back tonight.
Sami Zayn’s music hit and he sauntered out, stopping halfway down the ramp.
Sami thanked the ride‑or‑die fans, saying that’s the kind of respect he’s looking for. He said he tried to stay backstage and not get involved, but he couldn’t listen to this anymore. Gunther complaining about being robbed of a championship opportunity? Sami said he knows all about that. Golden Boy is ready to fight, but both of them are ignoring the fact that they both did him wrong.
Gunther told Sami this involves the title, so it doesn’t involve him. Get out of the ring.
Sami said Gunther was right — he’s never held that championship — but he does know about beating Gunther for titles.
Cody said he doesn’t know which Sami he’s dealing with. He’s a good guy, he beat Matt Cardona, but Cody is a little busy right now.
Sami said that is why their friendship is where it is. Instead of talking, Cody is blowing him off. Cody is always looking for the next threat to him and the title, but maybe the biggest threat is staring him in the eyes.
Cody asked if that’s what Sami meant.
Sami said Cody was going to beat Gunther and then teach him a lesson. Cody beat Gunther — so when is he going to teach him that lesson?
Gunther stepped into the ring and shoved Cody into him. Gunther locked in a sleeper. Sami pulled Gunther off Cody, and Gunther threw Sami to the floor. Gunther and Sami brawled on the outside, and Cody went for a suicide dive — but Gunther moved and Cody wiped out Sami instead.
Cody offered his hand to help Sami get up but Sami refused and walked away.
Miz and Danhausen Backstage Confrontation
Miz was on the phone with Kit, who explained he wasn’t allowed into Italy because of his emotional‑support cats.

Danhausen warned Miz not to touch his stuff.
Miz and Danhausen argued about how it isn’t nice to show up at someone’s house uninvited.
Miz started throwing things around, grabbed something he shouldn’t have, and shocked himself.
Danhausen walked away while Miz lay there, not moving.
