Viewership details have emerged for WWE Backlash, specifically for the portion of the premium live event that aired on ESPN2.
According to Wrestlenomics, the first hour of WWE Backlash was broadcast simultaneously on ESPN2 and ESPN Unlimited. That opening hour brought in 998,000 viewers on ESPN2 and recorded a 0.33 rating in the key 18–49 demographic.
Data for ESPN Unlimited, which carried the full event, has not been released.
The matches featured during the ESPN2 broadcast window included Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker and Trick Williams vs. Sami Zayn, giving television viewers a look at two of the show’s key bouts.
This marks the second consecutive WWE premium live event where the first hour aired on ESPN platforms. The same approach was used for WrestleMania 42, where night one aired on ESPN2 and drew 1.62 million viewers, while night two aired on ESPN and attracted 1.82 million viewers.
The continued partnership with ESPN platforms allows WWE to showcase portions of its premium live events to a broader television audience, while the full shows remain available through streaming distribution.
