Becky Lynch has officially clarified the status of her upcoming match against Sol Ruca, confirming that her championship will not be on the line at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.
Taking to X, Lynch shut down speculation that the bout would be contested for her Intercontinental Championship, delivering the message in her trademark confident — and cutting — tone.
“There seems to be misinformation regarding my Saturday Nights Main Event match! (The biased wrestling media is pushing the agenda that the title should be on the line!!) NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! I CLEARLY stated that SUCKER Sol Ruca has done NOTHING to earn a shot at MY VERY PRESTIGIOUS IC TITLE!! We will see if she can hang with the GREATEST female wrestler of all time. A LOT of people don’t think she will, but we will see!! Thank you for your attention on this matter – BTB,”
Lynch went on to question whether Ruca could even keep up with her inside the ring, referring to herself as “the greatest female wrestler of all time” while suggesting many doubt Ruca’s chances.
Feud Built On Tension Since Raw Debut
The rivalry between Lynch and Ruca has been brewing since the May 4 episode of WWE Raw, when Ruca officially signed her contract. The moment was quickly overshadowed by Lynch, who interrupted to confront Adam Pearce over recent title-related decisions involving IYO SKY.
Ruca fired back at Lynch for hijacking her spotlight, setting off a tense exchange that escalated when Lynch accidentally struck Pearce during the confrontation. Lynch later shifted blame onto Ruca, further fueling the issue between the two.
In the weeks since, multiple backstage encounters have intensified the rivalry, leading to their upcoming clash.
Stacked Card For SNME
Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place in Fort Wayne at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, featuring a loaded lineup beyond Lynch vs. Ruca.
Among the featured matches:
- Penta defends the Intercontinental Title against Ethan Page
- The Street Profits challenge The Vision for the World Tag Team Titles
- Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Rhea Ripley face Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin in six-woman tag action
- The Women’s Tag Team Titles will be on the line as Brie Bella and Paige challenge The Irresistible Forces
While Lynch vs. Ruca won’t carry championship stakes, the personal animosity between the two could make it one of the most heated matches on the card.
