We are live from the cotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.
He welcomes everyone to Raw and he says there is someone in the back who says it is the last time he will be able to say that. Gunther vows to end his career at the Royal Rumble. AJ says he isn’t going anywhere. He did not hide from anyone that this is the year that he retires. AJ says he wants everyone to enjoy it together. John Cena showed him it can take a year to say goodbye. Last year was the Year of Cena. This can be the Year of AJ Styles. There are so many people in so many locker rooms he wants to wrestle one more time. AJ says he wants to be World Champion one more time.
Gunther is good, but he is not phenomenal.
CM Punk’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring.
Punk asks if you figured out why he is out here tonight. He says he has known AJ for more than 20 years. They have been friends and they have been enemies. Now there is nothing but respect. He asks AJ what is he doing. Putting your career on the line against Gunther. If it doesn’t go your way, your career is over. There is a lot of gas in the tank and moments to make in front of these people. Punk says he has looked at AJ’s career and he says the stakes are too high on Saturday.
AJ wants to know if Punk doesn’t think he can beat Gunther. Punk says he isn’t saying that and AJ says that is what Punk is implying. Punk says we saw him beat Gunther but the referee raised your hand. If you don’t win on Saturday, we will never see CM Punk versus AJ Styles in a WWE ring.
Punk looks around. AJ says he knows Punk isn’t saying it that way, but he says it comes off disrespectful. Punk says he is being selfish. AJ says he knows he can beat Gunther and he knows he can beat Punk.
Punk says there it is. He says it is hard to beat a good team twice. If you lose on Saturday, you can’t prove you can beat CM Punk. Punk says golly gee, what can he do.
AJ suggests they fight tonight. If he beats Punk and then beats Gunther, he is the number one contender for that title. Punk tells AJ and Toronto that he won the title on November 1st and he said he would be a fighting champion. If they are going to do it tonight, it is going to be for the belt. Punk announces that the match is happening.
Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, and Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley
Iyo and Perez start thing off and Perez with a slap. Iyo with a leg sweep and she stops short and slaps Perez. Iyo dances and hits Raquel with a forearm. Perez hits Iyo from behind and connects with forearms and sends Iyo into the turnbuckles. Perez with kicks and Liv tags in and kicks Iyo. Raquel tags in and hits some lawnmower elbows. Liv tags i and she goes for a slam. Iyo escapes and tags in Vaquer. Vaquer with a drop kick and clothesline. Liva goes for a sunset flip but Vaquer blocks it and escapes. Vaquer with a leg drop for a near fall. Vaquer with a suplex and she knocks Perez off the apron. Raquel tags in and Vaquer with a forearm. Liv with a waist lock and Vaquer with a belly-to-back suplex. Vaquer goes for the Devil’s Kiss but Raquel, the legal person in the match, kicks Vaquer.
Raquel with elbow drops to Vaquer and she gets a near fall. Perez tags in and she kicks Vaquer. Perez chokes Vaquer in the ropes. Perez chokes Vaquer in the corner and she Irish whips Vaquer. Liv tags in and connects with a hip. Liv with a boot and a drop kick for a near fall. Liv with a reverse chin lock. Vaquer with a snap mare and Liv with a clothesline. Raquel tags in and connects with a leg drop and she gets a near fall. Raquel with a chin bar and half nelson. Vaquer with punches to escape but Raquel with a shoulder tackle. Perez tags in. She walks over Vaquer and hits a moonsault for a near fall. Perez with a slap and Irish whip. Vaquer with a boot and a head butt to Vaquer. Vaquer with a kick to Perez.
Vaquer crawls across the ring and Liv pulls Iyo off the apron. Perez with an elbow drop to Vaquer. Rhea walks after Liv and Raquel hits Rhea from behind and sends her into the ring steps. Perez with an uppercut in the corner and Raquel tags in. Vaquer avoids and elbow and Liv tags in. Vaquer with a back breaker. Iyo tags in and so does Perez. Iyo wtih shotei followe by a suplex. Iyo goes to the apron on an Irish whip and she kicks Perez and hits a missile drop kick and then she gets the Okada wide shot to show she has ears. Iyo with a running double knee strike and Liv pulls Perez out of the way on a moonsault. Iyo with a butterfly back breaker. Perez grabs the ring skirt to distact the referee.
Perez with a rake of the eyes and Liv tags in. Liv with a Codebreaker followed by a side Russian leg sweep from Perez for a near fall by Liv. Liv misses obLIVion and Iyo with a drop kick. Rhea tags in and she hits short arm clotheslines on Liv followed by a back heel kick and fallaway slam. Rhea with a head butt to Raquel. Rhea goes for Razor’s Edge and she sends Liv into Raquel. Rhea counters Pop Rox into a face buster and a short arm clothesline. Rhea kicks Raquel and Raquel sends Rhea to the apron. Rhea with a forearm. Rhea goes up top and hits a missile drop kick. Rhea blocks a kick and Rhea with a punch. Liv escapes RipTide. Rhea with an elbow and Liv with a kick. Liv with a tornado DDT for a near afll. Perez takes care of Iyo. Vaquer with Eat Defeat. Raquel with a boot to Vaquer. Vaquer escapes a Tejana Bomb and Raquel goes to the floor. Vaquer with a cross body off the turnbuckles to the floor.
Perez tags in when Liv goes for obLIVion. Perez with a chop block. Rhea blocks a Codebreaker and Iyo with a missile drop kick. Rhea with a head butt to Perez and RipTide for the three count.
Winners: Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, and Stephanie Vaquer
Backstage:
Finn Balor stops CM Punk and he says he is thinking about everything that happened. He says while it didn’t go as he wanted, it was the greatest moment of his career. You gave him his flowers, but he didn’t return them. He will do it now. He thanks Punk.
Punk thanks Finn. He says he isn’t the best in the world without facing the best. He is not just handing out title shots. John left and AJ is close to leaving. He tells Finn if he wants to be champ, he might need to ditch the Judgment Day because you won’t be a success around garbage like Dom. He tells Finn to win the Rumble and he will see him in Vegas.
In the Arena:
Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring.
Paul points out that they are booing him and he hasn’t said anything yet. After getting the Marner treatment, Paul introduces himself and his friends.
Paul insults Toronto and he tells them it will go on all night if they continue to boo him. He brought the hottest prospect of the next few years, Austin Theory. He mentions the master of the Tsunami and hte man who has victory after victory over Roman Reigns, Bronson Reed. He mentions Logan Paul. He mentions the reason we are all here tonight, Bron Breakker.
Paul says Bron is here for a face to face meeting with Adam Pearce. Paul says he thanks Mr. Pearce for this offer, but before he comes out, we need to look at why this meeting was necessary. We see example one from two weeks ago. Paul says that was conduct unbecoming an official. Paul says people in Canada know that. We see example two from last week with the brass knuckles. Paul says it is time for Pearce to come to the ring, at his leisure.
Adam Pearce comes out to the ring.
Adam says he is not out here to make excuses. He says he does not have a problem wearing his heart on a sleeve. Adam says he put his hands on Bron first and he aplogzies.
Pearce tries to talk for Paul about lifting the suspension and putting him in the Royal Rumble and Pearce says it is done.
Paul says he is okay with that.
Pearce says that Paul is so good and he tells Logan, Bronson, and Austin they are in the Rumble.
Pearce tells Austin that if it wasn’t for brass knuckles, he could have beaten Rey Mysterio. He says that Austin deserves redemption and he gets it tonight.
Rey Mysterio vs. Austin Theory
They lock up and Theory with a clean break. Rey pushes Theory and Theory kicks and chokes Rey. They go to the floor and Theory sends Rey into the ringside barrier and apron. Theory with a wrist lock. Rey with forearms to try to escape but Theory holds on. Rey with kicks to the leg followed by forearms. Rey with a springboard head scissors take down and Theory fires back with a back elbow. Theory with punches. Rey with a drop kick to the knees . Rey goes for a satellite head scissors and Theory blocks it and counters with a double knee gut buster. Theory with a reverse chin lock. Theory pulls Rey to the mat and returns to the reverse chin lock. Theory with punches. Theory goes for the mask and Rey stomps on the foot to get free. Rey with a knee and a boot to the head to send Theory into the ropes. Theory escapes the ropes before Rey can hit a 619. Rey goes to the apron and Theory catches him on a seated splash. Theory blocks it but Rey with a rana. Rey with a seated splash onto Theory and he returns to the ring.
Theory returns to the ring and then he goes to the floor again. Rey follows and Theory sends Rey face first into the ring steps. Theory sends Rey back into the ring. Theory with shoulders in the corner and he follows with a back breaker for a near fall. Theory with an arm bar. Rey with a punch. Theory with a fallaway slam. Rey with a head scissors take down and he punches Theory from the turnbuckles. Theory gets Rey on his shoulders but Rey escapes. Rey goes for a springboard move and Theory with a forearm and Ataxia for a near fall. Theory with a waist lock and he puts Rey on the turnbuckles. Theory goes to the turnbuckles but Rey with an elbow. Theory gets Rey on his shoulers and Rey pulls them over the top rope to the floor and Rey stays on Theory’s shoulders. Rey with a head scissors into the apron. Logan hits Lee and Penta takes care of Logan. Reed tosses Lee into the ringside barrier.
Theory uses the mayhem on the floor to hit a stomp for the three count.
Winner: Austin Theory
After the match, Reed attacks Penta. Lee pulls Reed off but Logan punches Lee. Bron with a spear. Logan goes up top and htis a frog splash. Bron spears Penta and Reed pulls him into the corner for a Tsunami. The referee tries to stop them from doing any more damage to Rey but that does not work. They hold Penta for a Warp Spear.
We Hear from Natalya
Natalya tells Maxxine she made her and she failed. You didn’t fail you, you failed her. You are just like the rest of them. Because you rolled with a legend, you thought you could roll like a legend. That will never happen again. This is a whole new her. After she is done with Maxxine, she is coming for it all. Natalya elevates, but Nattie decimates.
Backstage:
Raquel screams for Vaquer and Bayley yells at Raquel. Bayley tells Raquel where Pearce’s office is. Lyra shows up and Raquel says she has other business to deal with. Vaquer jumps Raquel and they have to be separated.
- Byron is in the interstitial interview area with Je’Von Evans. Byron brings up what happened last week with the ref stoppage. He asks what happened. Evans says he is all good and nothing bad happened to his shoulder. Sometimes he gets too excited. He says he feels good and he is ready to focus on what is next. Byron asks what is next. The crowd chants for the Blue Jays because Evans is wearing a Red Sox beanie. Evans says there a lot of goals he wants to accomplish and one of them is to main event Wrestlemania. That means he has to win the Royal Rumble. Evans says he is in the Rumble. Evans says he has something for everyone in the Rumble.
– We have a Roman Reigns video package.
Michael Cole Interviews GUNTHER
Cole mentions Gunther’s match on Saturday and he asks why did he force AJ to put his career on the line.
Gunther asks what does he gain by beating AJ in a standard match. Now he has something phenomenal to fight for. He can end AJ’s career.
Cole asks why rob the fans of the great moments with AJ Styles.
Gunther says he is tired of the old timers overstaying their welcomes. Those moments belong to him. Bill Goldberg was chasing a moment and he took it. Cena was chasing moment after moment for a year, but they will talk about Cena giving up in his last match. Gunther talks about AJ having a farewell tour. He does not want AJ taking away his moments.
Gunther tells Cole he falls in that category too. He asks Cole how long is he going to stay around and chase that moment. Gunther says he can kick over Cole’s chair now and end his career. He tells Cole not to worry because he wants Cole to call the match on Saturday to say that the career of AJ Styles is over.
Gunther chuckles and he says it will be great an memorable.
Backstage:
Adam Pearce is on the phone and Finn Balor stops by to say he is in the Royal Rumble. Adam tells Finn that he got his title match last week and they are already at thirty spots. Finn says no Royal Rumble is full without Finn Balor. Adam says the Rumble is full. Finn says this isn’t over.
Liv asks Finn about CM Punk. He says Punk showed him up last week in your home town and he raised your hand like a participation trophy. Punk does not want you to win the title but the Judgment Day do. Finn tells Liv there is more than that and he has some thinking to do.
Number One Contender’s Match: The New Day vs. Alpha Academy vs. Los Americanos vs. American Made
Kofi and Bravo start things off and Bravo with an Irish whip and a monkey flip but Kofi lands on his feet. Kofi wtih a monkey flip to Bravo ad he rolls through. Woods distracts Bravo and Kofi hits Bravo from behind. Bravo with a forearm to the back and Rayo tags in. Bravo and Rayo with flying head butts to Kofi. Tozawa tags in and he hits a head scissors on Rayo. Julius tags in and Tozawa sends Bravo onto Rayo on the floor. Julius with a clothesline to Tozawa and Brutus knocks Kofi and Woods to the floor. Julius with a knee to Otis off Brutus’ back. Brutus with a Brutus ball to many people. They send Otis shoulder first into the ring steps. Julius sends Tozawa back into the ring and he knees Tozawa in the ribs. Brutus tags in and they hit a double gut buster. Brutus with a forearm to the side of the head. Brutus with a forearm and Julius tags in. Julius with a suplex and he holds on and rolls through into a front face lock. Tozawa with punches.
Rayo tags in and he slams Tozawa. Rayo stomps on the head. Rayo with a half nelson and chin bar. Rayo stomps on the ankle and BRavo tags in. Bravo with a forearm and a slingshot senton onto Tozawa while on Rayo’s knees. Bravo with a front face lock. Woods tags in and he connects with forearms. Woods kicks Tozawa in the corner. Kofi tags in and kicks Tozawa. Woods with a drop kick in the corner. Tozawa with elbows to Woods and Woods with a back heel kick. Kofi tags in and Woods with an Irish whip and Kofi iwth a leg drop while Woods holds Tozawa up. Woods kicks Tozawa and tags Kofi in. Kofi gets on Woods’ shoulders and Tozawa gets his knees up. Rayo tags in and kicks Tozawa. Rayo with a front face lock. Bravo tags in and Bravo is sent into the tree of woe and Tozawa sends Rayo into Bravo. Julius knocks Otis off the apron and Tozawa sends Julius intot he ropes.
Bravo with a reverse airplane spin and Tozawa hits a missile drop kick. Tozawa makes his way tot he corner to tag in Otis. Otis with clotheslines to Julius and Woods followed by Kofi. Otis with back body drops. Otis with a splash to Woods and Bravo and Bravo falls onto Woods. Otis with a caterpillar and elbow to Julius but the cover is broken up. Tozawa with a double hedistation DDT to Kofi and Brutus. Tozawa with a suicide dive to Rayo. Tozawa with suicide dives to everyone else. The shirt comes off. Kofi misses Trouble in Paradise. Tozawa with a kick and he goes up top for a back sention. Waller crotches Tozawa while Woods distracts the referee. Jey with a super kick to send Waller over the ringside barrier.
Otai with a back first to Kofi and a clothesline to Woods. Rayo and Bravo with a double drop kick to Otis. Brutus takes care of Bravo and Rayo. Otis blocks a knee from Julius and he drops him onto Brutus. Tozawa tags in and he hits the back senton on Julius for the three count.
Winners: Otis and Akira Tozawa
Backstage:
Jackie Redmond is with Becky Lynch and she congratulates her on her victory but Becky says it should be more revered but insults Jackie’s Leafs jacket. Becky says there is a controversy.over the match because of Nattie. She says she had to deal with Lyra. She says that Nattie will have to win the Royal Rumble for a title match.
Kairi Sane stops by to tell Becky that she is going to win the Royal Rumble because no one is ready for Asuka. Becky says she has beaten Asuka many times and they would have won War Games if not for Asuka. Kairi translates and Asuka yells that she heard her and she will see Becky in the Rumble. Asuka yells at KAIRI
– Je’Von stops by to wish AJ luck and says he hopes to see him on the farewell tour (and Je’Von knows to cover up the Red Sox logo)
- Byron is in the interview area and Raquel Rodriguez interrupts to yell at Stephanie Vaquer. She says every week you have been ducking her. You keep coming up with an excuse. If it isn’t you, it is someone sticking their nose in her business. You have never faced anyone as dominating as her. She will not finish until she gets Stephanie in the ring and she will take her title. Raquel tells Stephanie to make the match.
– Stephanie Vaquer shows up to talk to Pearce. She says that Raquel wants her and she wants Raquel. She does not want a match, she wants a fight. Pearce says she has a Street Fight next week for the title.
Backstage:
Bronson Reed wants to know what is the plan. Logan says they need to have one goal and one vision to lead into Wrestlemania. He says no one can stop them. They are a well oiled unit, a machine of machines. He says that they need to make sure that one of them wins the Rumble. Logan says the winner should be Bron Breakker. Logan says that is the vision.
– Oba Femi will be in the Royal Rumble.
CM Punk vs. AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship
They lock up and AJ with a wrist lock. Punk with a reversal and he works on the arm. Punk with a hammer lock and AJ with a reversal. Punk with a waist lock and AJ with a wrist lock. Punk with a leg sweep and he gets a near fall. They go for a Greco Roman Knuckle lock and AJ with a side head lock. AJ with a kick and Punk gets AJ on his shoulders. AJ goes for the Calf Crusher but Punk counters into an Anaconda Vice. AJ with a rollup for a near fall. Punk with a side head lock. Punk with an elbow drop to the back when AJ drops down to set up the Phenomenal Forearm. Punk with kicks and a scissors knee drop. Punk with a reverse chin lock. AJ with elbows and a punch. Punk with a clothesline. Punk with a reverse atomic drop and AJ with a drop kick. AJ goes to the apron and hits a sliding knee on the apron.
AJ chops Punk and sends him into the ringside barrier. AJ with a forearm and they return to the ring. AJ sends Punk into the turnbuckles. AJ and Punk exchange chops. AJ with a hard Irish whip that sends Punk sternum first into the turnbuckles. AJ with a snap mare and kick to the back. AJ with a reverse chin lock. AJ with a side head lock take down. Punk with punches and AJ with an elbow. AJ with an Irish whip and he connects with a flying clothesline. Punk with a forearm and AJ fires back. Punk Irish whips AJ face first into the turnbuckles. Punk with punches and a leg lariat. Punk with a swinging neck breaker. Punk with a knee into the corner followed by a bulldog. Punk with a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Punk gets AJ up but AJ gets to his feet ad he connects with a series of strikes and a clothesline. AJ with a running forearm. AJ with a clothesline into the corner. Punk with a clothesline for a near fall.
Punk with punches and forearms. Punk gets AJ on his shoulders and AJ blocks the knee. AJ with an Ushigoroshi for a near fall. AJ puts Punk on the turnbuckles. AJ sets for a superplex and Punk blocks it. Punk drops AJ face first to the mat and Punk with an elbow drop for a near fall. Punk with an Anaconda Vice. AJ with a head scissors and Punk with a jackknife cover. Punk backs AJ into the turnbuckles and he connects with shoulders. AJ goes for a Calf Crusher but Punk rolls through. AJ goes for a Styles Clash but Punk gets to the ropes. AJ with a knee and forearm. AJ goes for the sliding knee but Punk catches AJ and hits a GTS on the floor.
Punk tries to bring AJ back into the ring but he cannot so Punk goes into the ring and AJ is able to beat the count. AJ with a rollup for a near fall and then he hits Styles Clash for a near fall. AJ goes to the apron for a Phenomenal Forearm but Punk hits the ropes to send AJ to the mat. Punk with a kick and punches. AJ with punches. AJ with a kick and Punk with a chop and forearms. AJ with a Pele Kick. Punk blocks a power bomb and AJ avoids getting on Punk’s shoulders. Punk gets AJ up but AJ holds on to the ropes. Finn Balor with a drop kick to Punk and the referee calls fro the bell.
Winner by DQ: CM Punk
After the match, Finn sends Punk to the floor and hits a running drop kick against the ringside barrier. He hits a second one and CANADIANS KNOW HOW TO BUILD A RINGSIDE BARRIER. Balor sends Punk back into the ring and hits Coup de Grace. Finn goes up top again and hits another Coup de Grace to the ribs. Finn goes or the hat trick and hits it again.

Bron Breakker returns to the red brand tonight as Raw General Manager Adam Pearce prepares to confront him about the escalating tensions between them just days before the Royal Rumble. Pearce suspended Breakker indefinitely on the January 12 episode of Raw after Breakker got physical with him while attempting to interfere in a match involving The Vision, Penta, and Dragon Lee — and then continued assaulting Penta and Lee despite Pearce’s intervention. With Breakker’s suspension lifted and the Rumble looming, tonight’s conversation could determine the future of their volatile dynamic.
Jey and Jimmy Uso, who dethroned AJ Styles and Dragon Lee to become World Tag Team Champions on December 29, will learn their first challengers tonight. New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, Los Americanos’ Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano, Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa, and The Creed Brothers’ Julius and Brutus Creed will collide in a Fatal Four‑Way No. 1 Contenders Match. With four teams hungry for a title opportunity, the match promises chaos and high stakes.
Maxxine Dupri came close to regaining the Women’s Intercontinental Championship last Monday when she challenged Becky Lynch — with her longtime mentor Natalya watching from ringside. Dupri appeared seconds away from victory after landing a crossbody, but Natalya intervened by placing Lynch’s foot on the bottom rope to break the pin. Moments later, Natalya launched a vicious attack on Dupri, shocking the crowd and ending their partnership in brutal fashion. Tonight, Natalya appears in her home country with something to say — and the WWE Universe will be waiting to hear her justification.
AJ Styles will also appear tonight as he prepares for the most important match of his career: a showdown with GUNTHER at the Royal Rumble where Styles must retire if he loses.
