According to Bryan Alvarez on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Live, former WWE Tag Team Champion Montez Ford is not the man behind the hooded attacks, despite widespread theories circulating online.
The latest wave of speculation began after the masked figure returned during Monday’s episode of RAW. Fans immediately began comparing screenshots and examining the attacker’s build, with many concluding it resembled Ford. Alvarez clarified that while the social media investigation was thorough — and in some cases, unusually focused — the conclusion was inaccurate.
“So, Monday, another mystery man showed up, and it was not Austin Theory,” Alvarez said. “Now, if you go on social media, I swear to God, everybody was trying to figure out who the new mystery man was based on his butt. And everyone concluded that it was Montez Ford.”
Alvarez added that while the true identity remains unknown, he received direct confirmation that Ford is not involved. “I don’t know who the masked wrestler was, but I was told specifically it was not Montez Ford.”
Austin Theory remains the most frequently discussed name linked to the angle. He has long been rumored to be joining The Vision and was widely believed to have been under the mask at Survivor Series, where the mystery attacker blindsided CM Punk and helped The Vision secure victory in the men’s WarGames match. However, Alvarez’s comments indicate that the most recent appearance on RAW was someone different, leaving the storyline wide open.
