11/25 NXT Gold Rush Results – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude.com’s coverage of NXT for November 25, taped last week from The Theatre At Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY.
We take a look back at highlights from last week’s show.
Booker and Vic are joined by Peter Rosenberg for this match.
Sean Legacy vs. Jackson Drake for the Evolve Championship Match
Drake with a kick to the leg and Sean with a kick of his own. Sean blocks a kick and takes Drake to the mat. Sean with a front face lock. Drake with a wrist lock and he keeps Sean from a reversal but Sean reverses and he hits a reverse atomic drop. Sean with an atomic drop and he kicks Drake in the back and hits a moonsault for a near fall. Drake goes to the floor and Sean follows. Sean with a chop. Sean sends Drake into the apron and chops him. Sean sends Drake into the apron again and he chops Dreake one more time. Drake is sent back into the ring and Sean goes after Brad and Ricky so Drake hits Sean from behind. Sean with a back drop driver onto the apron and he gets a near fall.
Sean with a drop kick to the leg and he hits a series of drop kicks. Ricky trips Sean and Sean kicks Ricky and then he connects with a back elbow. Sean with a moonsault but Drake counters into a suplex into the turnbuckles.
We are back and Drake with an Irish whip and kick in the corner for a near fall. Drake with kicks to the chest and Sean with a chop. Drake with kicks and Sean with a few chops sprinkled in. Sean blocks a kick and he chops Drake many times. Drake with a knee but Sean with a drop kick and German suplex. Sean hangs in the ropes and kicks Drake in the head. Sean with a springborad drop kick and rake goes to the floor. Sean with a flip dive onto Drake, Ricky, and Brad. Sean with a running kick into the corner. Sean with a moonsault into a sit out reverse driver. Drake blocks a 450 splash and Drake gets a near fall. Drake with a kick and a moonsault knee drop. Drake with a suicide drive and he sends Sean back into the ring. Sean goes up top to stop Drake and Drake blocks Sean. Sean with a super fallaway power slam for a near fall.
Sean with kicks and a waist lock. Drake with elbows and Sean with forearms. Drake escapes a Burning Hammer. Drake with a double knee gut buster from the shoulders and he puts Sean on the to rope. Drake with a springboard knee to the back of the neck and a flying knee for the three count.
Winner: Jackson Drake (retains championship)
– We go to footage from earlier today and Ethan Page gives Sol Ruca a towel. He says Sol would be North American Champion if she didn’t worry about her friend. He says Sol is a world class talent and is not second fiddle to anyone. He tells Sol not to go out with Zaria and to think about herself.
Myles Borne shows up and tells Sol not to listen to him. Ethan says that Myles is sticking his nose in everyone’s business. Ethan says that Trick does the right thing because he only cares about himself. You care about everyone so that means he won’t have to worry about Myles.
Women’s Speed Championship Match: Zaria vs Fallon Henley
They lock up and Fallon with a take down. Fallon with a sleeper and she gets on Zaria’s back. Zaria backs Fallon into the turnbuckles to get out of the hold. Fallon floats over and gets a near fall with a sunset flip. Fallon with a chop and Zaria with a punch. They go back and forth. Fallon sends Zaria to the apron and Zaria with a shoulder and a sunset flip for a near fall. Fallon with a crucifix bomb for a near fall. Zaria blocks a sunset flip and drops down for a near fall. Fallon with a waist lock and an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Fallon with a cross body for a near fall. Zaria with a back heel kick and Irish whip. Zaria with a splash into the corner and a suplex for a near fall.
Zaria goes for a Cloverleaf but Fallon blocks it and Fallon punches her. Zaria with a Cloverleaf. Fallon gets to the ropes to force a break. Zaria with a forearm and she goes for snake eyes but Fallon escapes. Zaria with a boot and Zaria climbs the turnbuckles and lifts Fallon for a sleeper. Zaria with a clothesline off the turnbuckles and Fallon rolls to the floor. Zaria follows and Zaria with a punch and she hot shots Fallon on the apron. Zaria punches Lainey and tries to punch Jacy but misses. Fallon with a Tiger Feint Kick around the ring post and she goe sup top for a cross body but Zaria rolls through and she gets Fallon on her shoulders but Fallon counters the F5 into a DDT for a near fall.
Zaria avoids a kick and she gets Fallo up as time runs out.
Draw
After the match, Ava makes her way to the stage and she says this is not going to happen. They are in New York City and there needs to be a champion. This match goes to Sudden Death.
Zaria gets Fallon up and she presses Fallon over her head but Fallon gets to her feet. Fallon goes to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Fallon with elbows to Zaria on the turnbuckles and she slams her to the mat. Fallon gets a near fall. They exchange forearms and Fallon with Rings of Saturn. Zaria rolls over to get a near fall. Fallon gets a near fall. Zaria with a punch and Fallon with a double thrust to the throat. Fallon goes to the turnbuckles and Zaria grabs Fallon by the throat and slams Fallon. Zaria with clotheslines and a bicycle kick. Zaria with a head butt and she hits a back drop. Zaria with a waist lock and Fallon with elbows. Fallon with a victory roll for a near fall. Zaria with a spear and Fallon falls to the floor. Zaria is goes into the ring steps when Fallon is pulled aside by Lainey.
Fallon with a Shining Wizard and a Fameasser for the three count.
Winner: Fallon Henley
– Shiloh Hill is back in front of his computer. He says he has been a wrestling fan his whole life. He talks about breaking his father’s nose when he was young and he would wrestle with him. He says his dad lives through him because he taguht him to try new things. He says his tooth got knocked out early in his training. He says he couldn’t stop smiling after seeing it in a mirror. Shiloh says he has to go.
We go to commercial.
– We are back and John Cena says the future of WWE is what NXT Is all about. That is why he asked Ava to be able to select the Iron Survivor Challengers.
He mentions Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater. Next is Joe Hendry. The next entrant is Dion Lennox. The final spot will go to the winner of the Trick Williams and Myles Borne match.
– Izzi tells Tatum that she heard the warnings. You listened to all of the voices in your head and it led to your downfall. You will pout about it like you always do. Don’t worry. It is what it is.
TNA Knockouts Championship Match: Kelani Jordan (c) vs Jordynne Grace vs Lei Ying Li
Kelani goes to the floor and Lee with a rollup on Grace for a near fall. Kelani with punches to Grace and forearms to Lee. Grace pushes Lee and Kelani kicks Grace. Grace with an Irish whip to Kelani and Lee with kicks to Grace. Kelani with a sleeper but Grace backs Kelani into the turnbuckles. Lee goes to the turnbuckles for a blockbuster on Kelani and Grace falls onto Kelani. Lee gets a near fall on Grace. Grace misses a clotheslien and Lee with a drop kick to the knee and a running knee. Lee with a running knee into the corner followed by punches to Grace. Kelani sends Lee to the floor. Grace sends Kelani into the turnbuckles and she hits a running double knee strike followed by an uppercut. Grace with a Vader Bomb for a near fall. Lee with strikes to Grace and Lee with a cross body but Grace catches her. Kelani with a leg sweep to Grace and a double stomp.
Kelani sends Lee to the floor. Kelaniw ith forearms and an elbow. Lee grabs Grace by the leg. Kelani with a sit out face buster for a near fall. Kelani sends Grace into Lee on the apron. Kelani with a face buster and a hesitation leg drop. Kelani with an Asai Moonsault.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Kelani goes up top and hits a frog splash on Grace but Lee breaks up the cover. Lee with a knee to Grace and forearms in the corner. Grace Irish whips Lee into Kelani but Kelani moves. Kelani with a tornado DDT attempt ut Grace lands on her feet. Lee with a kick and Lee with a missile drop kick when Grace gets Kelani on her shoulders. Lee gets a few near falls. Lee sets for a power bomb and Grace with a back body drop. Grace with a knee to Lee and she sends Lee to Kelani and Grace with a German suplex to Lee while she gives Kelani a Northern Lights suplex through Lee for a near fall on Lee. Grace puts Lee on the turnbuckles. Lee stops Grace on the turnbuckles and they exchange forearms.
Lee with a knee and Kelani gets Lee up and she hits an Accordion Slam. Kelani kicks Grace and sets for Spanish Fly and hits it. Kelani gets a near fall. Lee with an ankle lock but Kelani rolls through to escape. Lee blocks a kick and she applies a single leg Crab. Grace chops Lee and goes for a power bomb but Lee has Kelani in the ankle lock. Grace pulls Lee off and hits a power bomb for a near fall. Grace with a rollup for a near fall and a power bomb for a near fall on Kelani. Grace gets Lee on her shoulders and Lee gets to her feet. Lee gets Grace up but Grace gets back to her feet. Grace with a back elbow. Grace goes for a drop kick through the ropes but Kelani catches her and slams Grace to the floor.
Kelani with a kick to Lee and she goes up top. Kelani misses a 450 splash and Lee with a kick and she gets Kelani up. Grace pulls Kelani off and Grace with a back fist to Lee. Grace with a back fist and a near fall. Grace with Three Seconds Around the World for a near fall. Lee sends Grace to the floor and gets the three count on Kelani.
Winner: Lei Ying Lee (new champion)
– Fallon says that they are not done and Jacy says it is two down and one to go. She tells Lainey that this is the moment she has been waiting for. Ava shows up and she congratulates Jacy and Fallon. Since there was interference in their first two matches, Jacy and Fallon are banned from ringside.
We go to commercial.
– Sarah is with Ricky Saints. She brings up Oba’s return and what does it mean for the title.
Ricky says all eyes are on him. He says there is a lot of pressure that sits on his chest. That is what he is having to deal with now. He says he is starting to question things.
Sarah reminds Ricky he beat Oba. How is it different.
Ricky says he plays that moment over and over and he wonders if that was the perfect moment. It is hard to deal with. People ask him how will he beat Oba again. Ricky says he does not know. He says he is starting to think if we are getting back on the highway for Oba to get the title back. Ricky says he is doing his best to quiet the doubt.
Sarah asks Ricky about the doubt.
Ricky says he wonders if all of the work and years he has grinded away. If he cannot beat Oba Femi, it is all for naught. That is playing in his head. He says he is thinking about pressure and that is his ally. It sucks and does not feel good, but he can use it to his benefit. If all of the criticism and doubt about him being able to win . . . if he can’t beat Oba Femi, who can? Ricky says he can. He will not let his journey fall to the wayside with Oba in his way.
Evolve Women’s Championship Match: Kendal Grey (c) vs Lainey Reid
Grey with a double leg take down and punches. Grey with waist lock take downs. Grey with a cross arm breaker but Reid escapes and she punches Grey. Reid with an uppercut into the corner followed by kicks. Reid sends Grey into the turnbuckles and she punches and kicks Grey. Grey sends Reid into the turnbuckles and kicks her. Grey misses a shoulder and then Grey floats over and Reid hits the turnbuckles. Grey goes for a leg sweep but Reid stays on her feet. Grey with a drop kick and she gets a near fall. Grey with a front face lock. Reid with a kick and she sends Grey to the apron. Grey has a kick blocked and Reid with a punch. Reid catches Grey from the apron and Reid tries to power bomb her into the announce table but Grey escapes. Reid sends Grey into the ring steps.
We go to commercial.
We are backk and Reid puts Grey on the turnbuckles and connects with a forearm to the back. Reid goes for a German superplex but Grey blocks it. Reid with elbows to Grey but Grey holds on. Grey with punches and she knocks Reid to the mat. Grey with a moonsault. Grey punches Reid and kicks her. Grey with back elbows and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Grey slides to the floor and takes Reid down. Reid with boots to the head and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Reid sends Grey to the mat and then Reid pulls the knee pad down. Reid misses the knee when Grey counters with a power slam for a near fall.
Grey with a cross arm breaker and Jacy Jayne goes to the ring and Fallon gets on the apron. Wren is knocked off the apron and Charlie Dempsey catches her.
Grey with a thrust kick to Jacy. The referee sends everyone to the back.
Reid with a rollup for a near fall and a series of thrust kicks. Reid goes up top and Grey follows and hits a German superplex. The straps come down and Grey with Shades of Grey for the three count.
Winner: Kendal Grey
– Dark State is in the back and they talk about Dion Lennox being announced for the Iron Survivor Match. Dion says he is thinking about some singles gol. The titles will still be in the family. Dion says when they strike, no one is safe.
We go to commercial.
– We are back with John Cena and the announcement of the Women’s Iron Survivor Participants. The first person is Sol Ruca. Next is Lola Vice. The third person is Kelani Jordan. Fourth is Jordynne Grace. The final participant is Kendal Grey.
– Next week we will have an Iron Survivor Summit. Josh Briggs will face Tavion Heights.
Trick Williams vs. Myles Borne in a Who is the Fifth Iron Survivor Match
Trick with a clothesline as the bell rings. He kicks Myles a few times. rick goes for a back drop but Myles counters with a sunset flip or a near fall. Myles with a side head lock and a drop kick. Myles gets a near fall. Trick sends Myles to the mat. Trick with punches. Trick with a front face lock. Myles tries or a back drop but Trick blocks it and hits a suplex for a near fall. Trick pie faces Myles and Myles is pissed off. Trick with a back fist and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Myles lands on his feet and he hits Borne Again for a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Trick with a jumping side kick and he punches Myles. Trick with a flapjack for a near fall. Trick with an Irish whip and he chops Myles. Trick with another chop. Trick with an Irish whip and he misses a chop but Myles with European uppercuts. Trick with a shot to the throat and a slam. Myles with an inside cradle for a near fall. Myles avoids a kick and Myles with a rollup for a near fall. Trick blocks a crucifix bomb and hits a Death Valley Driver. Myles counters the running knee with a power slam for a near fall. Myles with punches to Trick and a clothesline. Myles with a second clothesline and a drop kick. Myles with an atomic drop and a GTR for a near fall. Myles with a European uppercut and Trick with a uranage. Trick with a snap mare and Myles with a forearm. Trick with a knee but he misses a kick. Both men hit jumping neck breakers. Myles with a knee but Trick with a pop up uppercut. Myles avoids a side kick and Myles with a drop kick. Trick blocks Borne Again. Myles is sent to the floor.
Trick with a cyclone kick but he hits the steps when Myles moves. Myles with Borne Again on the floor. Myles hits Borne Again for the three count.
Winner: Myles Borne
After the match, the lights go down and Dark State makes their way to the ring.
Before they can get to the ring, Je’Von Evans, Leon Slater, and Joe Hendry make their way to the ring to stand by Myles. (I smell MatchCeption for next week)
