Vince McMahon Opposes Broader Document Demands in TKO Merger Lawsuit

Vince McMahon Opposes Broader Document Demands in TKO Merger Lawsuit – Vince McMahon is resisting calls to turn over additional personal documents in a shareholder lawsuit connected to the WWE-TKO merger, according to a new report from Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston. The former WWE CEO argues that the plaintiffs’ requests extend beyond the scope of the case and amount to an invasion of his privacy.

The lawsuit, filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, is backed by a group of WWE shareholders, including a pension fund. Plaintiffs allege that McMahon handpicked Endeavor—then the parent company of UFC—as WWE’s merger partner to secure his position of power. They claim McMahon was motivated by Endeavor’s perceived willingness to overlook the sexual misconduct allegations brought against him, thereby acting against the interests of WWE shareholders.

McMahon’s legal team labeled the lawsuit’s main claims as “meritless” in a recent court filing. They argue that McMahon has already agreed to produce documents that directly relate the misconduct allegations to the merger process. However, they strongly oppose turning over what they described as “deeply personal and intimate communications” with women or family members, which they argue have no relevance to the merger deal.

The filing also warns the court against what McMahon’s attorneys describe as an attempt to use the discovery process to “harass and pressure” him and his family. They caution that allowing these requests could turn the case into a “mini-trial over the Sexual Misconduct Allegations,” distracting from the legal questions at the heart of the merger dispute.

The court has not yet ruled on the motion for expanded discovery.
