The Young Bucks Set for NJPW Resurgence – NJPW has confirmed that The Young Bucks will return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling at the upcoming Resurgence event on May 9th, set to emanate from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The brothers will compete in an eight-man tag team match, teaming with two mystery partners against the Bullet Club War Dogs—Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gedo.
The match was first teased during Windy City Riot, where Matt and Nick Jackson issued a challenge and hinted their partners would be “some OG buddies,” fueling speculation that they’ll reunite with long-time allies from their earlier NJPW days. While the partners’ identities remain unknown, fan buzz is already building around the possible return of notable former Bullet Club or Elite members.
The full card for Resurgence is also shaping up with several high-stakes title matches:
- NEVER Openweight Championship: Konosuke Takeshita will defend against El Phantasmo (ELP).
- Strong Openweight Championship: Tomohiro Ishii is set to face Drilla Moloney.
- Strong Women’s Championship: Mercedes Moné defends in a triple threat against AZM and Mina Shirakawa.
- Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship: The World Class Wrecking Crew will defend their titles against Templario and TJP.
