WWE has announced a new match for next week’s episode of SmackDown, and it will feature Cody Rhodes.
Following Rhodes’ return to WWE in 2022, he has been able to share the ring with a lot of new talent since his first run with WWE.
During Saturday’s episode of The SmackDown LowDown, Rhodes did a promo while backstage at this week’s SmackDown, where he was interrupted by Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium.
This led to Kaiser mocking Rhodes for winning the 30-man Royal Rumble match from the 30th spot and calling him a “hero” for eliminating Gunther, but clearly in a sarcastic way, as Gunther had entered first and been in the match for over an hour.
This led to Rhodes stating wrestling was all about wins and losses, so he challenged Kaiser to a match on next week’s show.
Previously announced for Friday’s SmackDown is LA Knight vs. Rey Mysterio. More matches will be announced for next week’s show as it gets closer.
