WWE was supposed to hold a live event this coming Monday night in Corbin, KY at the Corbin Arena. However, that show has been postponed and the new date for the show is Thursday, October 17, which will be one of the first Thursday night live events for the blue brand.
Earlier today, Roman Reigns announced that he would be on Raw to handle some “unfinished business” but WWE put out a statement saying Reigns would not appear because of his SmackDown Live commitments. This is an angle and Reigns will be appearing this Monday night.
Several WWE SmackDown Live stars are scheduled to appear on Raw this Monday night to hype the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view. This is the reason why Monday’s SmackDown live event was postponed.
The decision to have SmackDown Live stars appear on Raw was made in the last couple of days and it’s a direct reaction to the shocking ratings decline in recent weeks. Television ratings have slipped in the last few years but the ratings for Raw have declined at a faster pace than most other shows and that is a big concern within WWE management.
We could see SmackDown Live stars appearing on Raw for the next several weeks and more changes could be on the way if ratings do not improve in time for the Fall when they will have to deal with NFL competition. There is also concern about the SmackDown Live ratings decline so you can expect changes on that show.
