Reports continue to circulate regarding the status of All Elite Wrestling star Keith Lee, who has been absent from in-ring action for an extended period following health-related setbacks.
A report from Fightful Select noted that Lee was “discussed for a return to AEW programming a number of months ago.” However, the report also clarified that it is not confirmed whether Lee was ever directly informed of those discussions. It was further stated that he has not been seen backstage and has not gone through the typical clearance process that usually signals an active return is being prepared.
Lee’s last match for AEW took place in late December 2023 on an episode of Collision. Around the same time, he was also pulled from the Worlds End event due to an undisclosed injury issue that had reportedly been affecting him for more than a year.
Since that period, Lee has remained largely inactive in AEW programming. In June 2025, he addressed his situation publicly, stating that his health was fine but making it clear that the decision regarding his return was not in his control. A few months later, he followed up by saying he would “definitely” return to in-ring competition, but did not provide any timeline or specific direction on when that would happen.
Lee signed with AEW in February 2022 and made an immediate impact upon debut. Since joining the promotion, he has wrestled 48 matches for AEW and an additional three matches under the Ring of Honor banner. His run included a reign as AEW World Tag Team Champion, marking one of the key highlights of his early tenure.
At this time, there is no confirmed return date or creative plan publicly announced for Lee’s comeback. The situation remains dependent on internal clearance and ongoing health evaluations.
Keith Lee AEW return update latest report
The latest update reinforces that while internal discussions about a potential return have taken place, Lee has not yet re-entered active AEW rotation or cleared the necessary steps for an in-ring comeback.
