World Wrestling Entertainment has officially announced two championship matches for the upcoming edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event scheduled for Saturday, May 23.
The announcements were made during this week’s episode of WWE RAW as the company continued building the card for the special event.
One of the featured matches will see Ethan Page challenge Penta for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Penta currently holds the title and will enter the event looking to continue his reign against one of WWE’s rising stars. The match also gives Ethan Page an opportunity to capture his first major singles championship since joining WWE television full time.
WWE World Tag Team Titles Also Set For Saturday Night’s Main Event
Another championship match confirmed for the show involves the WWE World Tag Team Championships.
Logan Paul and Austin Theory, collectively known as The Vision, are scheduled to defend the titles against The Street Profits.
The rivalry between the two teams has continued escalating in recent weeks across WWE programming, leading directly to the championship match being made official.
The Street Profits have repeatedly targeted the champions while attempting to position themselves back at the top of WWE’s tag team division.
With two title matches already confirmed, WWE is expected to announce additional bouts and storyline segments for Saturday Night’s Main Event over the next several days.
