The May 6 episode of AEW Dynamite featured major developments involving the tag team division and several matches being set for next week’s show in Asheville, North Carolina.

5/6 AEW Dynamite News and Notes

Members of The Conglomeration earned a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships following a Double Jeopardy match on Dynamite.

Orange Cassidy defeated Dax Harwood in the stipulation bout. Cassidy’s victory secured a future AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity for members of The Conglomeration.

Had Harwood won the match, he, Cash Wheeler, and Tommaso Ciampa would have earned a future shot at the AEW Trios Championships instead.

The exact date for the upcoming tag title match has not yet been announced, and AEW has also not confirmed which members of The Conglomeration will challenge for the belts.

FTR currently hold the AEW World Tag Team Championships, but their next title defense is already scheduled for a high-stakes match against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.

That bout will take place under I Quit Street Fight rules, with the additional stipulation that if Copeland and Cage lose, they can never team together again.

AEW also confirmed another major multi-man match for next Wednesday’s Dynamite from Asheville.

FTR will team with Ciampa, David Finlay, and Clark Connors of The Dogs to face The Young Bucks, Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, and Orange Cassidy in a ten-man tag team match.

The show will additionally feature an AEW World Championship match involving Kazuchika Okada.

Okada is scheduled to challenge either Darby Allin or PAC for the AEW World Championship. Allin is currently set to defend the title against PAC this Saturday before next week’s title bout takes place.

Current lineup for next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite:

  • AEW World Champion Darby Allin or PAC vs. Kazuchika Okada
  • FTR, Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay & Clark Connors vs. The Young Bucks, Christian Cage, Adam Copeland & Orange Cassidy

With multiple title implications and faction rivalries continuing to escalate, next week’s Dynamite is already shaping up to be one of AEW’s biggest television cards of the month.
