The highly anticipated Bloodline showdown quickly became one of the most physical matches of the night.

Fatu immediately overwhelmed Reigns with his aggression and nearly secured a victory multiple times throughout the contest.

Early in the match, Fatu launched himself through the ropes with a suicide dive before instantly trapping Reigns in the Tongan Death Grip at ringside.

Fatu then slammed the champion into the ring post while maintaining the hold before releasing it and staring out at the crowd.

Reigns struggled to gain control for long stretches as Fatu repeatedly powered through his offense.

One of the biggest moments came when Fatu kicked out at one after Reigns connected with a Superman Punch.

Even after a second Superman Punch, Reigns still could not keep the challenger down.

The match later spilled outside where Fatu powerbombed Reigns through the announce table before the champion recovered and hit a spear back inside the ring.

Fatu answered with a Samoan Drop and the Mighty Moonsault before nearly forcing Reigns unconscious with another Tongan Death Grip attempt.

Reigns eventually survived after exposing a turnbuckle pad during a chaotic sequence involving the referee.

The champion drove Fatu into the exposed corner before hitting a final spear to secure the pinfall victory.

However, the loss only pushed Fatu further over the edge.

Immediately after the match, Fatu snapped and attacked Reigns again while officials rushed to restore order.

Fatu repeatedly locked in the Tongan Death Grip on Reigns as referees and security attempted to pull him away.

At one point, Fatu also delivered a Samoan Drop to the referee before continuing the assault.

Even with multiple officials surrounding him, Fatu repeatedly reapplied the hold while Reigns struggled to escape.

The chaotic ending left the champion battered despite retaining the title and further established Fatu as one of WWE’s most dangerous stars.
