Sid Vicious is officially set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026, but fans should not expect a traditional speech during the ceremony.
WWE previously confirmed that “Sycho” Sid would be honored during WrestleMania 42 weekend. However, new details have emerged from his son, Gunnar Eudy, who shared on Facebook that the induction will take place under the Legacy Wing category.
According to Gunnar, the family will be in attendance for WrestleMania weekend festivities, including WrestleCon, but the nature of the Legacy Wing means there will be no live acceptance speech during the Hall of Fame ceremony.
“There will be no acceptance speech because they are putting him in the legacy wing. We will just be in the crowd… We would have been honored to give a speech but at the same time I feel like his fans rather see a video package of him than two people talking that they don’t know.”
The Legacy Wing is typically used to honor influential names from earlier eras of wrestling. Instead of speeches, inductees are usually recognized through video packages that highlight their careers and contributions to the industry.
While some fans may have hoped to hear personal remarks from Sid’s family, WWE’s decision suggests the focus will be on presenting a tribute that captures his most memorable moments inside the ring.
Sid built a lasting reputation through his dominant presence and major runs in both WWE and WCW, becoming one of the most recognizable stars of his era. His induction now adds another notable moment to an already packed WrestleMania 42 weekend.
Even without a speech, the honor cements Sid Vicious’ place among wrestling’s all-time names, with his legacy set to be celebrated in front of fans as part of WWE’s biggest week of the year.
