Kenny Omega Reacts to Jade Cargill Using One Winged Angel at WrestleMania 42

Kenny Omega has responded after his signature move was used during WrestleMania 42 Sunday, following Jade Cargill incorporating it into her match.

Cargill faced Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship and used a variation of Omega’s One Winged Angel late in the match. Commentary referred to the move as the “Sandstorm,” and Ripley ultimately kicked out, leading to a major reaction online.

The moment quickly gained traction across social media, with fans discussing the use of the move and its connection to Omega. The situation drew additional attention given the move’s reputation and how rarely it is kicked out of.

Omega later addressed the moment on X, sharing a positive reaction without directly referencing Cargill or WWE by name.

“When I see the moves I do elsewhere, I only take it as a compliment. If somehow I inspired people to use them, I can only be grateful. Besides, seeing the OWA on the WM ring was kinda neat, right? It’s all good with me.”

His response avoided any criticism and instead framed the moment as recognition of his influence.

Cargill previously worked in AEW before signing with WWE in 2023 and debuting at the Royal Rumble in January 2024. Her use of the move on a major stage added another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding cross-promotional influence in wrestling.

Ripley went on to win the match and capture the WWE Women’s Championship, but the use of the One Winged Angel remained one of the most talked-about moments from the bout.
