AJ Lee Hints at WWE Hiatus After WrestleMania 42 Loss

Becky Lynch defeated AJ Lee to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42 Saturday, securing her third reign with the title. The result left many fans disappointed, especially those who had hoped to see AJ Lee capture gold in her return run.

During the post-show following night one of WrestleMania 42, AJ Lee spoke about her entrance and what it meant to her. She made it clear that the moment was dedicated to the fans who have supported her throughout her career. At the same time, she hinted that her immediate future in WWE may include another break.

“With that entrance, I wanted to represent those fans who have been with me since day one, who have been wearing my outfits, my shirts, my shoes, my shorts, skipping along with me the whole way. That was for you. I love you. I never got to say goodbye last time, and I always felt bad about that.”

AJ Lee then addressed her status more directly, suggesting that while she is not leaving for good, she may not be on WWE programming consistently in the near future.

“So, this is not goodbye, but I’ll see ya soon.”

Her comments point toward a possible hiatus rather than a full departure. That leaves the door open for a return at any time, depending on her schedule and commitments outside the ring.

With the victory, Becky Lynch continues her run as Women’s Intercontinental Champion, adding another milestone to her career. AJ Lee, meanwhile, appears to be stepping away again, at least temporarily.

There is no confirmed timetable for when AJ Lee could return to WWE television. For now, her message suggests that fans should expect her absence, but not a permanent exit.
