Nino Hamburguesa has been released from AAA after a viral incident during a match last Tuesday, marking a major shift for the promotion following its recent partnership with WWE. The report states that Hamburguesa elbowed a fan at ringside, and the video has spread widely online. The clip shows him landing three light elbow strikes before delivering a stronger blow.
According to Lucha Blog, other wrestlers were informed of his release last Friday. Bodyslam.net added further details, quoting sources who said the footage damaged Hamburguesa’s standing within the company.
“Sources claim that the clip did no favors towards the AAA star. And despite fans saying that the fan previously provoked Hamburguesa, he intentionally sat on the lap of other person and proceeded to hit him several times with constant elbows straight to the face. He was [notified] of his termination via Zoom Call. WWE and AAA haven’t made a declaration of the incident.” This statement highlights how the situation escalated and why the company acted quickly.
Hamburguesa had remained with AAA after WWE acquired the promotion. He continued to work major events, including Guerra de Titanes in December 2025 and AAA’s Fox Latin America premiere this January. His departure is notable because he was one of the roster’s most recognizable heavyweights. He is a former AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion and the winner of the 2025 Rey de Reyes tournament, making this release even more impactful for fans and the company.
As AAA prepares for Rey de Reyes 2026 this weekend, the finals will feature La Parka, Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable), El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser), and Santos Escobar. The timing of Hamburguesa’s exit adds another layer of attention to an already high‑profile event. With Nino Hamburguesa released from AAA, the promotion now moves forward without one of its long‑standing performers.
