WWE Reportedly Rejected Sir Mo’s $30,000 Request for Life-Saving Surgery

WWE Reportedly Rejected Sir Mo’s $30,000 Request for Life-Saving Surgery – The wrestling community is mourning the loss of Bobby Horne, best known to WWE fans as Sir Mo of the 1990s tag team Men On A Mission. Horne passed away earlier this week at the age of 58, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and dedication to the industry. New reports, however, reveal heartbreaking details about the medical challenges he faced in his later years — and WWE’s alleged refusal to assist with a vital surgery that might have prolonged his life.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Horne contacted WWE several years ago seeking help to cover the $30,000 cost of a kidney transplant. WWE reportedly declined, citing a company policy that only covered rehabilitation programs for former talent, not major medical expenses such as organ transplants or cancer treatments.

Despite being denied financial assistance, Horne successfully raised the funds himself and underwent the surgery. Sadly, his health continued to decline in the years that followed. Meltzer noted that Horne endured multiple major health setbacks, including both kidney and liver transplants, as well as a serious battle with COVID-19 and related complications.

Friends and colleagues of Horne have also shared that he struggled with depression during and after his in-ring career. Nonetheless, he remained deeply passionate about professional wrestling. Even as his health worsened, he continued to give back to the business by mentoring young wrestlers and appearing at conventions and independent events.

In a testament to his enduring love for the sport, Sir Mo returned to the ring for one final match in 2020, long after his WWE run had ended. His perseverance, positivity, and influence on those around him left a lasting mark on the wrestling world — one that will be remembered far beyond his passing.
