Zaria Responds to Criticism After Spot with Alexa Bliss on WWE SmackDown – Last Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown featured a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match that saw champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defend their titles against Zaria and Sol Ruca. During the bout, an unexpected moment involving Bliss and Zaria drew attention from fans online.
At one point in the match, Bliss leaped off the ring apron attempting a hurricanrana on Zaria. However, the move didn’t unfold as planned — Zaria caught Bliss in midair, stumbled backward, and then swung her into the barricade in a rough-looking spot. It remains unclear whether Bliss was supposed to complete the hurricanrana or if Zaria was scripted to catch her and counter the maneuver.
After the match, a fan on X accused Zaria of botching the sequence. The Australian star didn’t ignore the criticism, instead offering a composed and thoughtful response. “Wrestling can get messy and that’s the beauty of it,” she wrote. “It’s how you recover and keep going that matters. Hope someone hugs you today, you sound like you need it.”
Despite the brief mishap, Bliss and Flair went on to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The finish came when Flair locked Sol Ruca in her signature Figure Eight submission hold, forcing the NXT standout to tap out.
Bliss and Flair have held the titles since defeating Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Ruca continues to balance her growing success in NXT — she currently holds both the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship — while teaming with Zaria in pursuit of main roster gold.
