Nikki Bella Responds to Fan Backlash Following Her Heel Turn – Nikki Bella has spoken out about the fan reaction to her recent heel turn on RAW, addressing the negativity that surfaced both in the arena and online. The turn took place during 11/10 episode of RAW, where the former Divas Champion appeared in the corner of Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for her title defense against Raquel Rodriguez. After Vaquer scored the victory, her celebration was cut short by an attack from Roxanne Perez, which prompted Nikki Bella to step into the ring to help fend off The Judgment Day.
What looked like a supportive moment quickly shifted. After helping clear the ring, Nikki joined Vaquer in celebrating the win—only to strike the champion with her own title belt seconds later. The crowd reacted immediately, and chants aimed at Bella filled the arena, including taunts referencing her past with John Cena. The turn marked her first major on-screen alignment shift since returning to WWE television.
On the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Bella addressed the backlash. While she didn’t specifically mention the chant, she made it clear that the tone of some of the crowd’s reactions crossed a line. “The hate’s so gross,” Nikki said. “Like, even some of the chants I got last night… Honestly, I think they got picked up more on TV, or maybe I was just too in my moment to even notice. But it’s nice to see people with credibility speaking up, because I think at the end of the day, they all know how much I love this business and how much passion I have for wrestling. They know the work I put in.”
Bella also noted that many of her efforts behind the scenes go unnoticed, highlighting the commitment she continues to bring to WWE. “You know, it’s not like I come on here and always say, ‘When I had two days free, when I didn’t have my son, I flew to Orlando just to get in the ring for five hours and then flew straight back.’ I don’t talk about that stuff all the time — but the people who know, know. I truly love this business, and I want to give it my all.”
With Stephanie Vaquer now blindsided and Bella officially positioned as a heel, WWE is expected to follow up on the fallout from this turn on next week’s RAW, setting the stage for a new rivalry in the Women’s division.
