Injury Update Following AEW Blood & Guts – AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts delivered one of the most punishing nights the company has produced all year, and early updates indicate that several wrestlers walked away bruised and bloodied but largely okay after the chaos.
Skye Blue was one of the first competitors to suffer visible damage in the Women’s Blood and Guts Match, taking a hard launch into the steel cage chains from Willow Nightingale. Fightful Select reported that despite the impact and the heavy blood loss seen on television, Blue is “okay” following the grueling 46-minute encounter.
Jamie Hayter was not quite as fortunate. According to the same report, the former AEW Women’s Champion may have chipped some teeth during the match. Hayter was battered throughout the bout, including being thrown out of the cage by Mercedes Mone and then speared on the floor by Thekla. Fightful noted that she is banged up but “as bad ass as you would expect,” suggesting she avoided anything more serious.
The match ended when Toni Storm verbally surrendered to protect Mina Shirakawa from further belt lashes delivered by Megan Bayne. Before the surrender, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, and Thekla held Storm back to stop her from saving her teammate. The winning team consisted of Mercedes Mone, Thekla, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Julia Hart, and Blue.
Kris Statlander later posted photos of her own cuts, bruises, and lacerations from the match. In her message, she joked about the pain, took a lighthearted jab at Mone, and praised every competitor involved, writing, “New hobby: acupuncture. Revisited hobby: putting Mercedes through a table. An honor to stand in the ring with all of the incredible women in Blood and Guts last night. Onward to Full Gear now.”
Outside of the cage, “Hangman” Adam Page and Powerhouse Hobbs fought through a rough Falls Count Anywhere Match. Both reportedly came out of the battle sore but without major injuries. Page secured the win by sending Hobbs crashing through an electrical table.
There are currently no medical updates available for the Men’s Blood and Guts competitors. The match saw Darby Allin, Roderick Strong, Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Kyle O’Reilly score a major victory over The Death Riders when Jon Moxley submitted to O’Reilly’s ankle lock.
