Drew McIntyre’s WWE Suspension Not Related to Movie Role

Drew McIntyre’s WWE Suspension Not Related to Movie Role – Drew McIntyre’s indefinite suspension from WWE programming is purely part of an ongoing storyline and not related to any outside commitments, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

Following the November 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, Wrestling Observer Radio initially claimed that McIntyre’s absence was tied to filming a movie. However, PWInsider has now directly refuted that claim, clarifying through creative sources that McIntyre’s suspension is entirely storyline-driven.

PWInsider reported, “For those who have asked about rumors Drew McIntyre was ‘suspended’ on SmackDown so he can film a movie role, there is nothing to that. PWInsiderElite.com is told by creative sources that the suspension is just the next part of McIntyre’s storyline. There is nothing beyond that.

The storyline suspension came after a chaotic ending to SmackDown’s main event, which saw Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes face Aleister Black in a non-title bout. The match was interrupted when McIntyre stormed the ring, striking referee Dan Engler with a Claymore kick as he attempted to issue a ten-count. The act triggered a massive brawl between McIntyre and Rhodes, with Black joining in to make it a two-on-one assault against the champion.

The situation escalated further when Damian Priest made a surprise return, attacking Black to even the odds. As the fight spilled out of control, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis appeared and announced McIntyre’s indefinite suspension on the spot, citing his unprovoked attack on an official.

The angle effectively removes McIntyre from television for the time being, continuing his storyline tension with both Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black while setting up future possibilities once he returns.
