Solo Sikoa Vs Jacob Fatu Set for Steel Cage Match at SummerSlam – The July 18 episode of WWE SmackDown saw a violent showdown between Solo Sikoa’s faction and Jacob Fatu leading to a major match announcement for SummerSlam.
Solo Sikoa kicked off the segment, flanked by Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Tala Tonga. In a fiery promo, Solo claimed that without his guidance, Jacob Fatu had become reckless and ungrateful. He accused Fatu of being self-centered and disloyal, saying, “He don’t care about anybody. He doesn’t listen to anybody. All he cares about is his damn self.” Solo went on to take credit for Fatu’s success in WWE, saying he gave him everything—from opportunities to titles—and branded him a criminal who betrayed his family.
As Solo spoke, Fatu made his way toward the ring. But before he could enter, Jimmy Uso appeared on the apron. Tala Tonga tried to intercept, but Jimmy dropped Loa with a superkick. Fatu followed up with a back elbow to Mateo and began trading punches with Solo. As the brawl spilled outside, Tala set up the announce table for a chokeslam, but Fatu stopped him with a suicide dive that rocked the ringside area.
The action escalated further as Jimmy and Fatu hit Tala with a series of double superkicks. In a high-impact spot, Fatu launched Jimmy like a missile with a crossbody over the barricade into Tala. Back in the ring, Fatu leveled Solo with a double-leg takedown and ground-and-pound. Jimmy then handed him a steel chair.
Fatu used the chair to trap Solo’s neck in the corner, setting up for a running hip attack. But Mateo made the save just in time. Jimmy responded with a superkick to Loa, while Tala dragged Solo to safety—clearly showing disregard for the rest of his crew. Jimmy then delivered a frog splash to Loa, and Fatu nailed Mateo with a double jump moonsault.
Fatu followed up by smashing Mateo and Loa with steel chair shots.
That prompted SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce to step out and put a stop to the destruction. Addressing Solo directly, Pearce said, “If you want to frame an innocent man, let’s see how you like it at SummerSlam.” He then made it official: Solo Sikoa will defend the United States Championship against Jacob Fatu inside a steel cage at SummerSlam.
