Big Vito Accuses WWE of Copying His Gimmick, Calls Out Triple H & Stacks Lorenzo

Big Vito Accuses WWE of Copying His Gimmick, Calls Out Triple H & Stacks Lorenzo – Former ECW, WCW, and WWE Superstar Big Vito has publicly accused WWE and Paul “Triple H” Levesque of copying his signature Italian gangster persona for NXT’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Big Vito voiced his frustration over the alleged gimmick theft, claiming that WWE borrowed from his established character without acknowledgment. He also revealed that WWE officials had previously contacted him for insight on “family” storylines and even discussed bringing him in—but that opportunity never materialized.

“I’ve lived this lifestyle my whole life. I’ve been doing this gimmick since 1999. I’m still the Don in the squared circle, but this kid—who has publicly disrespected me—has stolen everything but the shoes on my feet,” Vito stated.

He further called out WWE’s handling of his legacy, writing, “Your own people have reached out to me, asking for help with ‘family’ storylines. Those ideas? Mine. Talent relations even called me, said I’d be ‘brought in’ down in Florida. Yet here I am—a 35-year veteran—watching WWE bury me while they rip off my gimmick wholesale.”

Vito, who famously wrestled in a dress during his WWE tenure, expressed disappointment over what he sees as WWE’s disregard for his contributions to the business. He also took a dig at Stacks Lorenzo, offering him some unsolicited advice.

“Stacks—I get it. Imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery. I’ve got a few old leather jackets if you need them, but I doubt you can pull off the bald look,” he quipped. “Just remember: no matter who you put in the ‘costume,’ they’ll always be living in my shadow until I give my stamp of approval.”

As WWE continues to push Stacks Lorenzo as part of its evolving NXT landscape, Vito’s strong words add another layer of intrigue to the ongoing debate over originality and wrestling gimmicks.
