Jacob Fatu to Defend US Title in Fatal Four-Way Match at WWE Backlash – The WWE United States Championship picture just became more chaotic heading into WWE Backlash.
During the latest episode of SmackDown on 5/2, General Manager Nick Aldis initially announced a triple threat match for the U.S. Title at Backlash, pitting champion Jacob Fatu against LA Knight and Damian Priest. Earlier in the night, Knight and Priest squared off in a number one contender’s bout that ended in disqualification following interference from Solo Sikoa.
Solo then reminded Aldis that technically, Drew McIntyre defeated LA Knight in a number one contender’s match the previous week on SmackDown. Aldis acknowledged this oversight and decided to officially add McIntyre to the match, making it a fatal four-way contest for the championship.
Jacob Fatu, who has made a dominant impression since capturing the U.S. Title, was unfazed by the change. Speaking confidently, Fatu said, “It doesn’t matter who you put in front of me. At the end of the day, I’m gonna dog walk they ass. I’m all gas, no brakes.”
Tension flared as Solo accused Aldis of trying to screw Fatu over. Aldis fired back, claiming Solo is the one truly sabotaging Fatu’s path.
Backlash now features a volatile four-man showdown, with Fatu defending his title against three top-tier challengers in what could be the toughest test of his WWE run so far.
