Zack Sabre Jr. Scores Knockout Victory Over Jonathan Gresham at Bloodsport XIII – Zack Sabre Jr. made a memorable Bloodsport debut at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII, securing a knockout victory over Jonathan Gresham in a brutal and technical battle.
The two world-class technicians wrestled to a 15-minute time-limit draw in regulation, forcing the match into a sudden-death overtime period. Just over two minutes into the extension, both men launched simultaneous right hands, but Sabre Jr.’s landed flush, dropping Gresham to the mat. Without hesitation, ZSJ followed up with a punishing penalty kick to the head, knocking Gresham out cold and forcing the referee to wave off the contest.
The win marks Zack Sabre Jr.’s first appearance and victory in the Bloodsport format, showcasing his ability to adapt his submission-based style to the raw, strike-heavy environment of the promotion. He now sits at 1-0 in Bloodsport competition.
For Gresham, it’s a disappointing result, as he remains winless in Bloodsport action with a 0-2 record. Despite his technical skill and experience, Gresham has yet to find the formula for success in the no-ropes, no-pins ruleset that defines Bloodsport.
ZSJ’s debut KO win adds a new layer to his already impressive resume, and with this victory, he firmly establishes himself as a threat in future Bloodsport events. The matchup also highlighted the fine line between grappling precision and strike effectiveness—a line Sabre Jr. walked perfectly in his knockout finish.
