Young Bucks Explain AEW Dynasty Actions on Dynamite – The April 9, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite kicked off with a hard-hitting singles match between AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and NJPW legend Katsuyori Shibata. Moxley secured a decisive victory, further solidifying his dominant reign atop the company.
Immediately following the match, The Young Bucks made their way to the ring to confront Moxley and his Death Riders teammate Marina Shafir. Moxley and Shafir exited the ring, prompting Nicholas Jackson to grab a microphone and lash out at the audience, demanding they “shut the f*** up.” Nicholas then offered an explanation for the Bucks’ controversial appearance at AEW Dynasty, where they interfered in the main event and cost Swerve Strickland his shot at regaining the AEW World Championship.
Nicholas claimed their actions were done out of love for “Hangman” Adam Page, while Matthew Jackson described their attack on Strickland as a “peace offering” to Moxley and the Death Riders. He insisted that there was no bad blood between The Elite and Moxley’s group, and proposed that both factions join forces.
Before Moxley could respond, Kenny Omega made his return and confronted the Bucks. Omega criticized them for their selective loyalty, pointing out their failure to help him at Dynasty. He also took aim at their destructive influence, accusing them of nearly ruining AEW long before the Death Riders were even formed.
As tensions escalated, Kazuchika Okada ran to the ring to back up The Elite. However, before an attack could occur, Swerve Strickland stormed the ring wielding a steel chair, sending The Elite retreating. Omega exited soon after, leaving Strickland to deliver a passionate promo declaring it was officially “buck hunting season.”
Later in the night, Strickland defeated PAC in their first-ever meeting. The match ended abruptly due to a possible foot injury suffered by PAC following a buckle bomb, allowing Strickland to capitalize with a superkick and the Swerve Stomp for the win.
