WWE Reportedly Considering a Premium Live Event in Mexico – Earlier this year, Bad Bunny stirred excitement among fans when he suggested that WWE would host Backlash in Mexico. However, he did not specify when or where the event would take place. This statement quickly sparked speculation, but multiple reports later debunked the claim, confirming that there were no immediate plans for Backlash to emanate from Mexico.
Although Backlash won’t be held in Mexico, WWE is reportedly exploring the idea of bringing a Premium Live Event (PLE) to the country in the near future. WrestleVotes previously reported that a WWE PLE in Mexico in 2026 is a strong possibility.
On a recent edition of SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes provided further insight, stating that discussions regarding a major WWE event in Mexico have been extensive.
“Mexico has been discussed heavily. I don’t know if it’s official. The London thing is always there. They’re always wanting shows. They always put themselves out there to get big shows. Look, WWE is gonna go where they make the most money. Internationally has been selling out just as much as domestic.”
In recent years, WWE has significantly increased its focus on hosting major events outside the United States, with successful PLEs in London, Puerto Rico, and Saudi Arabia. Given the company’s strong fanbase in Mexico, a PLE in the country seems like a natural progression in WWE’s ongoing global expansion.
As WWE continues to explore lucrative international markets, it remains to be seen when and where the company will officially announce its first PLE in Mexico.
