WWE Cuts Off-Script Comments from Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton’s Heated Segment – During the April 4th episode of WWE SmackDown, Charlotte Flair and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton met face-to-face in the ring for a highly anticipated verbal exchange ahead of their WrestleMania 41 clash. While the segment delivered on intensity, it’s now being reported that the two stars went off-script, straying from the originally planned promo content.
According to backstage sources, much of what was said in the segment was not part of the original rundown. Flair and Stratton reportedly improvised several lines during their exchange — lines which WWE later chose to remove from the official digital recaps and YouTube uploads.
One of the most talked-about lines came when Stratton took a personal shot at Charlotte’s legacy, saying, “You’ll always come second to your father, Ric Flair,” before escalating things by stating, “When it’s all said and done, you’re gonna be just like you are outside of the ring — alone.”
Stratton didn’t stop there, referencing Charlotte’s WrestleMania record and failed marriages, asking, “What is that record? 0-3?” Charlotte fired back with a zinger of her own, quipping, “Is that why Kaiser’s in my DMs?” — a reference to Stratton’s real-life boyfriend, WWE star Ludwig Kaiser.
However, WWE’s official digital content scrubbed these lines. Notably, the company’s YouTube channel removed Stratton’s jab about Flair “drinking in her daddy’s basement at 25,” while bragging about being the current Women’s Champion at the same age. WWE also edited out the ‘0-3’ line and Charlotte’s comment about Ludwig Kaiser from both the YouTube upload and their social media highlight clips.
The decision to edit the segment has sparked conversation among fans, with many wondering whether the improvised comments crossed an internal line, or if WWE simply wanted to control the narrative as the WrestleMania build intensifies. Regardless, the segment achieved its goal — adding a deeply personal and emotional layer to their feud, and further fueling fan interest heading into WrestleMania 41.
This segment marks one of the most personal exchanges in recent WWE television, highlighting both women’s confidence on the mic and willingness to push boundaries. Whether or not their off-script banter was approved beforehand remains unclear, but it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.
