What Happened After 4/9 AEW Dynamite – Update On New Don Callis Family Members – Following the conclusion of the April 9, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, AEW continued the action with a pair of notable post-show segments.
Moments after issuing a challenge to The Death Riders for an AEW World Trios Championship match, Samoa Joe remained in the ring. The mood quickly shifted when Max Caster made his way down the ramp, issuing an impromptu “Max Caster Open Challenge.” In classic fashion, Caster taunted Joe and claimed he wanted to go live with the “best wrestler alive.”
However, the moment was short-lived.
Joe immediately responded with a devastating assault, flooring Caster with a single strike before finishing him off with not one, but two consecutive Muscle Busters. The quick beatdown left Caster motionless in the ring as Joe exited without saying a word—sending a clear message to both The Death Riders and the rest of the AEW roster.
In another post-show development, Don Callis continued expanding his on-air storyline by announcing that The Don Callis Family is accepting new members—and in typical Callis fashion, he included a tongue-in-cheek request for “bank account information” from applicants.
Backstage after the broadcast, Callis was seen speaking with “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight, both of whom competed earlier in the evening. While nothing official was confirmed, Callis appeared to be expressing genuine interest in the two standout performers, potentially laying the groundwork for future additions to his faction.
With Joe continuing to build momentum and Callis teasing new recruits, AEW is clearly ramping up its post-Dynasty storytelling heading into the next wave of programming.
Also, some matches were taped for future Ring of Honor TV programming:
Top Flight (Darius Martin & Dante Martin) defeated Tomohiro Ishii & Rocky Romero —
Dante pinned Romero for the finish.
Lance Archer (w/Don Callis) defeated former WCW, ECW and indie wrestler Crowbar/Devon Storm —
The crowd chanted “CROWBAR.” He was understandably a little slower, but he looked very good. He even hooked his elbow around the rope and flipped out onto the floor. Don Callis put the boots to him outside.
ROH World Champion Bandido defeated Jay Lethal —
Bandido scored the pin after a 21 Plex.
