Update on Ric Flair’s AEW Deal and Possbile WWE Appearance – Although WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair previously stated he would not be involved with WrestleMania 41 due to his current agreement with AEW, new details suggest the door may not be entirely closed.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Flair’s existing AEW contract is largely sponsorship-based, focused around his Whooo! Energy drink brand. The deal, which began in late 2023, is expected to last two years but does not appear to be exclusive in a way that would prevent WWE-related activity.
Sources close to the situation have indicated that Flair’s agreement with AEW is flexible, and would not necessarily prohibit him from attending or even participating in WWE events—particularly those involving his daughter, Charlotte Flair. This leaves open the possibility of Flair being present for WrestleMania 41 should he decide to appear.
While Flair has not appeared on AEW programming since Revolution in early 2024, there are currently no confirmed plans for his return to AEW television. This absence, coupled with the nature of his AEW deal, has fueled speculation about a possible cameo or backstage appearance at WrestleMania.
At this time, neither WWE nor Flair has officially commented on the potential for an appearance during WrestleMania 41 weekend. However, the situation appears more open-ended than initially believed.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available regarding Ric Flair’s future in the wrestling industry.
