Update on Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Following AEW DynastyAEW Dynasty 2025 delivered major developments in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, with key victories in both the men’s and women’s brackets that reshaped the road to Double or Nothing.

In the opening match of the night, former AEW International Champion Will Ospreay defeated Kevin Knight in their first-ever encounter. The bout was a high-octane display of athleticism, with Knight refusing to back down despite Ospreay’s relentless offense. Knight managed to kick out of a Styles Clash and Oscutter, drawing a roar from the crowd. However, Ospreay ultimately secured the win by delivering a devastating Hidden Blade, booking his ticket to the second round.

Later in the show, Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe renewed their fierce rivalry in a rubber match that more closely resembled a war than a wrestling contest. Fletcher dominated much of the bout, ruthlessly targeting Briscoe with two powerbombs—one on the floor and another on the ringside barricade. He followed up with back-to-back brainbusters on the apron and in the ring. Despite Briscoe’s spirited comeback, Fletcher sealed the deal with two running kicks and a turnbuckle brainbuster for the win, claiming the trilogy and advancing.

With the victories, Ospreay now awaits the winner of Brody King vs. Konosuke Takeshita, while Fletcher will face the victor of Hangman Page vs. a surprise wild card entrant. AEW has yet to announce dates for the upcoming matches, but all roads lead to the tournament finals at Double or Nothing in May.

Over in the women’s division, Mercedes Moné continued her dominant streak in AEW, improving to undefeated in singles competition with a hard-fought win over Julia Hart. The two battled in a technical showcase that saw repeated attempts at finishers, including Moné locking in the Statement Maker. Hart narrowly escaped and countered with a surprise roll-up, nearly stealing the match, but Moné quickly transitioned into a cradle pin to score the victory.

Moné advances to the semifinals where she will face the winner of Athena vs. Harley Cameron. The other half of the bracket features Jamie Hayter vs. Billie Starkz and Kris Statlander vs. Thunder Rosa. None of the match dates have been revealed yet.

Julia Hart, who recently returned from shoulder surgery, now holds a 5–3 record in 2025, while Moné’s winning streak continues to build her momentum toward a potential championship shot.

The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament continues to be a highlight of AEW’s annual programming, celebrating the legacy of Owen Hart while elevating the next wave of elite performers. With names like Ospreay, Moné, and Fletcher pushing forward, the stakes have never been higher heading into Double or Nothing.
