Three Names Advance in AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament – Three major tournament developments took place during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite: Spring BreakThru special, as Mercedes Mone, Hangman Adam Page, and Will Ospreay all advanced in the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
In the show’s opening match, Mercedes Mone defeated Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena in a high-profile semifinal bout. With the win, Mone becomes the first finalist in the women’s bracket and will compete in the finals at AEW Double or Nothing on May 25. She now awaits the winner of next week’s semifinal match between Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander.
On the men’s side, Hangman Page picked up a victory over the debuting Josh Alexander in the final quarterfinals match of the men’s bracket. With the win, Page moves on to face Kyle Fletcher in the semifinals next week. The post-match events also saw Alexander attack Page after receiving instructions from Don Callis, seemingly confirming Alexander’s alignment with The Don Callis Family.
In another men’s semifinal matchup on Wednesday’s episode, Will Ospreay defeated Konosuke Takeshita to advance to the tournament finals. Ospreay will meet the winner of the upcoming Page vs. Fletcher bout in the final, also set for Double or Nothing.
The stakes for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament are especially high this year, as both winners will earn AEW World Championship matches at AEW All In on Saturday, July 12, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Jon Moxley is the reigning AEW World Champion, while Toni Storm currently holds the AEW Women’s World Championship.
