Seth Rollins Blasts CM Punk, Calls Him “A Thief” and “Snake Oil Salesman” – In the lead-up to the high-stakes triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, Seth Rollins didn’t hold back when discussing his disdain for CM Punk, going as far as to say he despises Punk far more than he dislikes Roman Reigns.
Speaking on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Rollins was asked to compare his animosity toward his two opponents in Saturday’s main event. Without hesitation, Rollins launched into a scathing verbal takedown of Punk, referencing his turbulent AEW run and perceived betrayal of colleagues.
“This is a guy who is a thief. He’s a scavenger, he’s a fake martyr, he’s a snake oil salesman, he’s a con artist. He will sell you a false bill of goods at every turn with no apologies with zero responsibility,” Rollins stated. “He’s a guy who left this place. Ghosted all of his friends. If you have your own personal crap to deal with, that’s life. I get it.”
Rollins then accused Punk of urging others to abandon WWE during his 2014 departure, only to later criticize those who didn’t follow him: “To then ask people to leave their jobs, leave their security, leave their dreams behind out of loyalty to you, and when they don’t, you start to tear these people down in the media any way you can.”
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion didn’t stop there, bringing up Punk’s AEW stint, which ended after a highly publicized backstage incident with Jack Perry that led to his release: “Then you take money from some billionaire’s kid to come back to the business that you’ve forsaken and continue to try to tear down our company until that billionaire’s kid doesn’t want to pay you anymore. Now you want to come back, and take our money and wave the flag. I cannot tell you the absolute disgust in my veins for CM Punk. There is no comparison.”
Rollins’ comments add yet another layer of personal tension heading into the WrestleMania 41 main event, which will see him, Punk, and Roman Reigns collide in one of the most anticipated matches of the year.
This is also the second time AEW CEO Tony Khan has been referred to as a “billionaire’s kid” on WWE programming. John Cena previously alluded to Cody Rhodes’ AEW history during a promo on RAW.
